NW Dance Project’s Summer Programs offer exceptional weekly curriculum. Dancers will experience the joy of dance taught by Portland’s finest teachers. With an open and inclusive environment that values the creative process, our program develops coordination, balance, individual expression, spatial awareness, flexibility, strength, and group cooperation skills.

Our Junior Dance Intensive is geared for more advanced dancers interested in a comprehensive curriculum of techniques, discipline and styles of dance in preparation for NW Dance Project’s Youth Professional Training Program starting SEP 10 / 2018.

The Junior Dance Intensive provides in-depth classes in Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary Jazz, Hip Hop, Improvisation, and Choreography.

Dancers will work with NW Dance Project’s extraordinary faculty of teachers as they are mentored to push and develop their creativity, ideas and versatility . A showcase of choreography and techniques learned will be performed for family and friends on the final day of our Junior Dance Intensive.

FALL SESSION / SEP 10 TO DEC 16 / 2018WINTER SESSION / JAN 7 TO MAR 25 / 2019SPRING SESSION / APR 1 TO JUN 16 / 2019S

All Youth Dance Program classes are only available for multi-week, cost-saving sessions. There are three sessions per school year. During the summer NW Dance Project offers multiple dance camps, workshops, and intensives for dancers to explore, learn, and create.

Students should expect to complete a minimum of a year’s study in each level (age appropriate) before moving up to the next level. Placement and advancement is at the discretion of the teacher. Great consideration is taken in the class placement process. Students move through our curriculum according to ability, development, and age.
