BENEFITS OF BELONGING BECAUSE EVERY HEARTBEAT MATTERS The World Heart Federation (WHF) is dedicated to leading the global fight against cardiovascular disease (CVD), including heart disease and stroke. We are the only global advocacy and leadership organization bringing together the CVD community to drive the CVD agenda and help people live longer, better, more heart-healthy lives. We and our Members believe in a world where heart health for everyone is a fundamental human right and a crucial element of global health justice. Since its establishment in 1978, WHF has been serving as the principal representative body for the cardiovascular community (including the national and continental cardiology scientific societies and foundations), representing the scientific, medical and professional communities, as well as patients and charitable organizations. WHF works at the international and national levels through our own activities and those of our 200 plus members across 100 countries. WHF is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO) and a member of the NCD Alliance.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIESFull membershipA Full Member designates a cardiac society, heart foundation or other organization with significant involvement in cardiovascular health that applies for membership and meets the eligibility criteria.
Associate membershipAn Associate Member designates an organization working towards cardiovascular health, although this does not need to be its sole aim.
Long-standing members wishing to work more closely and strategically with the World Heart Federation can apply to become Member Partners.
Member PartnersMember Partners are the vanguard of the World Heart Federation’s membership community. Working in partnership with our Senior Leadership Team, Member Partners are invited to advocate on behalf of the World Heart Federation at global, regional and national events.
