Following extensive market research and the ingenuity of the Charles Endirect “in-house” design

team, we are delighted to offer a number of new, innovative products as part of our Belisha

range. Our PoleStar Light Engine and LED Halo offer modern, modular options based around our

new AVG4 Gallery, meeting the latest British & European standards and complying with Traffic

Signs Regulations and General Directions (TSR&GD). The innovative, integral Pedestrian Spotlight

uses modern, energy efficient LED to enhance safety at crossing points.

The Anti-Vandal Gallery has been in Charles Endirect’s business for over 20 years and has been a

leading product in the Belisha Beacon market.

The introduction of the new AVG4 range, modular option, allows for cost effective upgrades to

any standard AVG4 installation as and when required without the need to change the gallery.

AVG4 Belisha Beacon and Halo Summary Charles Endirect has been manufacturing and suppling Belisha Beacons products for over 20

years based around our ingenious Anti-Vandal Gallery which gives the AVG range its name.

Within a changing market, the time was right to refresh our current AVG design to meet today’s

requirements.

Charles Endirect’s globes are illuminated by either our CELstar or PoleStar LED Light Engine and

meet current British and European Standards. The addition of the halo provides a stylish, high

visibility option for highly illuminated and prestige areas such as high streets.

The AVG4 Anti-Vandal Gallery

AVG4 Globes

The re-designed Charles Endirect AVG, is a cast

aluminium gallery that holds the Polyethylene globe in

place. It fits on to a standard 76mm pole and is secured

via 3 hidden grub screws.

The AVG has allocated space for the addition of a Halo,

Pedestrian Spotlight and Photocell.

The AVG4 Gallery is IP54 rated, cast aluminium with a

Black (RAL9005), powder coated finish. The blanking

plates are nylon finished in black (RAL9005).

The AVG4 globes are 300mm diameter and available in

Amber, Hi-Glow Amber, Opal and Hi-Glow Opal.

Our globes are made from MDPE Polyethylene, a material

that has UV protection which is resistant to fading and

degradation from sunlight and typically has a 7-year UV

resistance. This means after 7 years the plastic has 50%

of the original strength, after a further 7 years, this will

half again.

The globe is connected to the AVG4 via a locking

mechanism and screws to secure in place. The globe is

illuminated via either a CELstar3 or PoleStar Light Engine.

The connection between the Globe and the AVG is

capable of withstanding water and dust to IP54 standard.

LED PoleStar Light Engine

AVG4 Halo

Designed to meet “The Traffic Signs Regulations and

General Directions” (TSR&GD), the AVG4 Halo is

constructed from high-quality cast aluminium, utilising

153 LEDs on each side ensuring high visibility for all

road users and pedestrians.

The Halo is bright enough to be noticed by road users

and pedestrians, but directional enough to be limited

at an angle to prevent glare and light pollution. The

cast aluminium body and clear lens is designed to

IP66. The Halo fits into the AVG to ensure a

waterproof seal.

The design and positioning of the LED

PoleStar Light Engine ensures that the whole

beacon is illuminated equally and evenly. The

PoleStar Light Engine is installed once all

other connections are made and before the

AVG4 globe is installed.

LED Pedestrian Spotlight and Photocell

An additional element to the innovative design is a 1W LED Pedestrian Spotlight. The predefined

aiming direction of the spotlight illuminates’ pedestrians waiting to walk over the crossing in

hours of darkness. This ensures the crossing is safe to both pedestrians and road users.

The Pedestrian Spotlight is controlled via a separate photocell unit.

Both the photocell and spotlight plug into the connectors to the PoleStar Driver Controller. The

spotlight is fitted to the AVG with an ‘O’ ring to seal it from ingress. The Photocell is held in place

by the force of the cartridge also with an ‘O’ ring to seal it from ingress to maintain the units IP

rating.

Solar Powered Belisha Beacon

Solar Powered options are available which can be easily installed with

no mains electricity supply (no cabling) – zero energy costs, zero

carbon.

The units come complete with the Anti-Vandal Gallery, Globe, LED

Lamp, Solar Panels and Battery.

The battery can store enough energy to run the unit for several days

without sunlight and the unit can be fitted to an existing pole to allow

use of current infrastructure. The CELsolar can be fitted with Amber,

Opal or High-Glow globes.
