Bed Complement Management

• User Manual will describe the way to enter Sanctioned and Commissioned bed counts in HIS application through Master Management module and to generate corresponding MIS report through Management information system module.

• Sanctioned Bed: It is the total maximum bed strength that has been approved and sanctioned for the Hospital by the competent authority, initially and from time to time.

• Commissioned Bed: It is the sum total number of operational/functional beds that have been commissioned and made functional/operational as on date in various specialties/departments. Normally the ‘commissioned’ bed strength is less than or equal to the ‘sanctioned’ bed strength. The beds in intensive care units such as ICU/ NICU/ PICU/ ITU/ SICU/ CCU/ ICCU/ PACU, etc.; Observation beds in Emergency / Casualty, Operation Theatre, Labor Rooms, etc., are not considered while counting the commissioned bed strength, as these beds are against regular beds in wards / cabins. Similarly, during emergency situation (such as disaster management or over-crowding), if temporary additional beds are added for short period of time, then these are not added/counted to the sum of the commissioned bed count. Bed Commissioned or Bed Complement denotes the declared number of beds made functional / operational from a ‘start date’ till the next change of count.

Management then click on Bed

In foot note, Sanctioned Bed and Commissioned Bed meaning is explained. User can refer the same before entering any data. Sanctioned Bed Count

need to be entered . Commissioned Bed Count will be auto-populate based on total strength of Commissioned Bed for all Specialisation.



Enter the Sanctioned Bed Count



Select the specialisation from the drop-down list to enter

Commissioned Bed Count for selected specialisation



Enter the Commissioned Bed Count for selected

Specialisation, then Click on Add tab.



Commissioned Bed Count/ Strength for entered

Specialisation will reflect



In the same way, user can add the Commissioned Bed Count

for different-2 Specialisation. Accordingly Total Commissioned

Bed Count for the hospital will be get changed.



Select specialisation, enter

bed count then click on Add.

message will reflect. If agree then click on Save & Proceed.

Before Submitting the record , if user want to edit any Proposed

Commissioned Bed Count for any Specialisation . Click on Edit.

Click on Update

Click on Submit , to forward the

proposed record for approval.



Record saved and forwarded for

approval successfully

Note :- Before approving the record , user can edit sanctioned bed count . In the same way

user can edit any proposed commissioned bed count for already entered specialisation or

can add commissioned bed count for any new specialisation which is not submitted earlier.


Click on Edit, if user want to edit any proposed

commissioned bed count for any specialisation

Click on edit, if user want to edit Sanctioned Bed Count.

If user want to add commissioned bed details for a new specialisation

which is not submitted earlier. Select specialisation, enter bed

commissioned count then click on Add.



Proposed commissioned bed strength

for entered specialisation will reflect



Click on update & Approve



Click on Yes to

approve the record



Record Approved Successfully,

click on OK.



Note :- Even after the approval, If user want to do any change in the details of Bed

Complement Management (Bed Counts). Creator will propose the changes and

later the same record need to get approve by approval authority.
