[1] On a comfortable length of conditioned thread (Online Basics), attach a stop bead (Online Basics), leaving a 10-in. (25 cm) tail.[2] Pick up a 3 mm fire-polished bead and three color B 110 seed beads, and sew through the 3 mm and the first two Bs again (figure 1, a–b).[3] Pick up eight color A 110 seed beads, and sew through the B your thread exited at the start of this step and the first two As just picked up (b–c).[4] Pick up six Bs, sew through the first B again to form a loop, and continue

through the next two As (figure 2, a–b). Pick up two Bs, a 3 mm, and a B. Sew through the first B just picked up, and continue through the next two As (b–c). Pick up six Bs, sew through the first B again to form a loop, and continue through the next two As (c–d).[5] Sew through the next eight seed beads and 3 mm (figure 3, a–b). [6] Pick up three Bs, and sew through the 3 mm again (b–c).[7] Sew around the thread bridge between the 3 mm and the adjacent B, then sew back through the 3 mm, and continue through the next two Bs (figure 4, a–b). [8] Pick up eight As, sew through the B your thread exited at the start of this step and the first two As just picked up (b–c). Pick up six Bs, sew through the first B again to form a loop, and continue through the next two As (c–d). Pick up two Bs, a 3 mm, and a B. Sew

through the first B just picked up, and continue through the next two As (d–e). Pick up six Bs, sew through the first B again to form a loop, and continue through the next two As and the adjacent B (e–f).[9] Pick up three As, and sew through the corresponding B on the other side of the 3 mm, the next two As, and the adjacent B in the loop above (figure 5).[10] Pick up three As, and sew through the second A added in the previous stitch (figure 6, a–b).

Enjoy the satisfaction of learning this unusual thread path that features elements of netting and right-angle weave. Contentment won’t be your only reward — you’ll get this lovely, lacy bracelet, too.
