Jumpstart your imagination and play! Get your hands into all sorts of awesome art materials in this

exciting, and well-loved arts program. Join Lesley Snyder as she takes you on a super-fun artsadventure that changes from week to week. Discover yourself in a world of vibrant paintings, hand-

built sculptures, and wonderful wool! Make your life more colourful!

Simple, beautiful shadow puppets and a little bit of light create a lot of magic! This daytime workshop

sees children create a shadow puppet performance inspired by First Nations storytelling. Instructor

Krista Dalby draws on her background in playwriting, performance, and incredible puppetry to

present this workshop that promises to nurture future creators! Participants engage with scripted

work, puppet making, and of course, it all pays off with the end of day puppet show! Sure to impressfamily and friends!

Beyond the dusty clouds of flour and the volcanic mixing styles, kids in the kitchen can make

delicious foods too. This workshop will ignite passion for the magic of the mixing bowl and the

grooviness of the grinder as participants mill their own flour, make butter from scratch and bringhome oven-ready bread! This workshop, presented with Slow Food PEC, strengthens our connection

to where our food comes from and teaches skills that can be appreciated by all in the family who love

a warm slice of fresh bread dripping with melted butter!

(note: this class offers 10 hours of instruction over 4 consecutive weeks)

Whet your aperture for digital photography as the Vaughan brothers bring their passion to the BCFC.Making the most of the features on your camera begins with the technical knowledge the Vaughans

have in spades. But beyond the technical skills you will learn, you will have the chance to apply those

skills in creative ways to take more inventive photographs!

The classes will include presentations, skills instruction, creative exercises and constructive

feedback to improve the student's skills and deepen their interest in digital photography.

There is no better way to improve your artistic endeavours than in this supportive life drawing classwith experienced teacher and painter, Anne Ireland. A focus on figurative work with a variety of

forms and models to explore, this class will be worthwhile to painters and artists of all levels.

An ongoing drop-in roundtable/experimental studio time for creative types provides a socialandexciting way to meet with other creative people. Find collaborators, practice pitches, bring

something to work on, scheme and develop projects. Your host, Lenny Epstein (filmmaker and theBCFCs programming chair) will try to ensure good times each and every week, starting with the

coffee, tea and light snacks provided! Bring ideas and materials you might want to work on/discuss.

A (very) short history of the Baxter Building

    Map and Directions

The Bloomfield Centre for Creativity is committed to celebratingthe Baxter Buildings history as we embrace a new future for thisspace in the heart of Prince Edward County.

Originally built in 1946 as the cafeteria for the workers at theBaxter Canning Co. across the street; the Gazette noted at thetime that the Baxters will have difficulty keeping it for theiremployees alone. Its so ideal for community events. The villagehall is inadequate for this thriving little town

The Cafeteria provided economical meals for the Baxter factory

workers- serving lunch and dinner during high canning season.A dinner at the time set workers back about 30 cents. How timeshave changed!

Also, did you know, the building is built from handmade cinderblocks!
