Dear Families and Staff of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School:

For the Class of 2016, tomorrow is a day for celebration. Some families have traveled many milesto see their loved ones, and our students have worked very hard to enjoy this day.

While the recent issue regarding the disciplinary action that occurred with members of this classhas circulated considerably in the media, we do not want anything to detract from our celebrationof the Class of 2016.

As we move forward, we can now turn our energies towards engaging in deeper conversationsabout the policies and preventative measures that can be implemented across our district to addressthe problem of alcohol and substance use connected to school-sponsored events.

The Class of 2016 has achieved a great deal, and I know that you will join me in celebrating theirmany accomplishments as we all work together to ensure that they have a beautiful ceremony!
