Since the inception of computer aided design,one of the biggest benefits has been the abilityto easily copy geometry and use it in otherplaces on the drawing instead of having tomanually redraw the geometry when you needit.
In conventional drafting, one of the most time-
consuming tasks is to duplicate an object. Youuse the Copy command to quickly createduplicates of objects at a specified distancefrom the original.

“COPY” Command can be activated by anyone of thefollowing Methods:
Modify Toolbar “COPY”
Menubar Modify “COPY”
Write “COPY” on Command Line
Short Key “CO”
After starting the Copy command and selecting theobject(s) to copy, you then specify the base point (wherethe object is being copied from) followed by the secondpoint or displacement (where the object is being copiedto). To create multiple copies, simply continue specifying second points or displacement values.

Using the Mirror command, you can create symmetric versions of geometry. When you activate the Mirror command, you are
prompted to select the objects to mirror and to define a mirror
line. The mirror line defines a vector across which all selected
geometry is mirrored. After defining the mirror line, you candecide whether to erase or retain the source geometry. You can
also control the Mirror command using grips.

MIRROR creates a mirrored version of the selected objects, or itcan create a mirrored copy. Instead of picking a base and
second point as you do with MOVE and COPY, with MIRROR you
pick two points that define an imaginary mirror. The selected
object is “reflected” on the other side of the mirror line. The
final MIRROR prompt asks if you want to retain or delete the
selected objects, known as the source objects.

Copy makes multiple copies of objects by default.If it doesn’t matter where the copies go, the COPY command is fine. However, if you need yourobjects in rows (and in columns, or even in a
circle), the ARRAY command is for you. ARRAY creates regular patterns of selected objects ineither rectangular (rows and columns) or polar (circular) arrangements.
Most common patterns contain geometry that isduplicated in a rectangular or circular array. Youcan use the Array command to duplicate objects ina repeatable pattern.

Using the Array command, you can duplicateexisting objects in a rectangle or circular (polar)pattern. You can select which type of array to usein the Array dialog box. Click the Rectangular or
Polar options to see point, distance, and methodrequirements for each type.

MOVE
Moving objects is a common procedure for changing theposition of objects in your drawing. The Move commandenables you to move objects to different locations in thedrawing using a variety of placement techniques.
The Move command enables you to reposition an object
in the drawing by selecting a base point, where theobject is moving from, followed by a point to definewhere the object is moving to. You can select the twopoints or use the Displacement option of the command.If you use the Displacement option, the coordinatevalues you enter specify a relative distance anddirection from the base point you selected. Anotheroption is to use grips to reposition an object. You selecta grip and then activate the Move command and selecta position to move the selected grip and the object to.

ROTATE spins the objects you select around a basepoint based on an angle value, or by defining areference angle and then an angle value. It isuseful in determining whether an object may fitbetter at a different orientation.
After you have created or inserted objects in thedrawing, at times you must change the angle of those objects. You can do this easily with theRotate command, or by using grips to rotate theobject.
When using the Rotate tool remember the defaultrotation of objects within AutoCAD 2009 iscounterclockwise (anticlockwise).

You use the Rotate command to rotate objectsin the drawing. Command options enable you torotate the objects simply by entering an angle
for the rotation or by defining a reference angleand then entering a new angle for the referenceangle. If you need to make a copy of the objectwhile rotating, you can specify the Copy option.
When the Copy option is selected, a copy of theobject is rotated, leaving the original object inits current position. You can also use grips torotate the object.

Chamfering connects two non-parallel objects with
a bevelled line.
There are many situations that call for a chamfer.
Any time you need to create an angled intersectionon objects in the drawing, the Chamfer command
should be your first choice.
You use the Chamfer command to quickly create aline between two nonparallel lines. It is usually
used to represent a beveled edge on a corner. You
can chamfer lines, polylines, xlines, and rays.

Use this option to undo the previousaction of the Chamfer command.
Use this option to chamfer a 2D
polyline. All polyline vertices are chamfered atthe current distance or angle settings.

values for the chamfer. :Use this option to create the chamfers
based on one distance and an angle.

Use this option to set the Trim and No Trimmodes. When Trim mode is active, the objects
being chamfered are trimmed to the start of the
chamfer lines. When No Trim mode is set, the
objects selected for the chamfer are not trimmed.
Use this option to switch between the
Distance or Angle methods for creating the
chamfer.
:Use this option to create multiple
chamfers without having to restart the command.
