Cartoons1. Cartoons are drawings which tell a story.
There are cartoons in newspapers whichtell about the news. Sometimes they arefunny.
Cartoon strips are called comics. Theyare in newspapers too. Each day thecharacters are drawn to tell a funny story.The words that the characters say orthink are put into ‘balloons’ above theirheads.
2. The cartoons that wesee on television arecalled animatedcartoons or animations.Lots of pictures aredrawn and then put ontofilm. When the film isscreened through aprojector the charactersseem to move.
3. Cartoons have been drawn for hundredsof years. At first they were in newspapersso that more people would buy thepapers. The person who draws thecartoon is called a cartoonist. They uselines to show how the characters move.Different lines on the face show how thecharacters feel.
