Class Expectations:
The objective of this class is to utilize the following resources to improve reading and writing skills.
I. Reading: Elements of Literature, Good Habits & Great Readers, DRA2, SRI, Reading Comprehension Toolkit, novels
II. Writing: narrative, persuasive, argument, and research simulation
III. Mechanics: Elements of Language
Course Overview
Reading fluency and comprehension are a major focus this year.
SRI & Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA2): Assess student reading achievement and allows for targeted instruction
Class novels : students will read an array of class novels and complete comprehension quizzes, tests, and projects.
Anthology: students will read various genres.
