59 CHAPTER V CONCLUSION, IMPLICATION, AND SUGGESTION 5.1 Conclusion Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that: 1. There is no correlation between students’ reading habit and their reading comprehension of the eleventh grade science class students of MAN 1 Surakarta. It can be caused by many factors. Some of them are the condition of the students when answering questionnaire and test and the situation of the class, the students have had the skills of reading comprehension. In addition, the researcher did not hold the readability test before giving questionnaire and test. That was one of the weaknesses of this research. 2. There is a positive correlation between students’ vocabulary mastery and their reading comprehension

5.1 ConclusionBased on the result of the study, it can be concluded that:1. There is no correlation between students reading habit and their reading comprehension of the eleventh grade science class students of MAN 1 Surakarta. It can be caused by many factors. Some of them are the condition of the students when answering questionnaire and test and the situation of the class, the students have had the skills of reading comprehension. In addition, the researcher did not hold the readability test before giving questionnaire and test. That was one of the weaknesses of this research.2. There is a positive correlation between students vocabulary mastery and their reading comprehension of the eleventh grade science class students of MAN 1 Surakarta. 3. There is a positive correlation between students reading habit, vocabulary mastery, and their reading comprehension of the eleventh grade science class students of MAN 1 Surakarta.5.2 ImplicationThe result of this research shows that there is no correlation between students reading habit and reading comprehension because r-obtained is lower than r-table (0.030 < 0.266). However, reading habit still gives contribution to the reading comprehension 0.7%. On the other hand, vocabulary mastery has correlation to reading comprehension. It is shown by the higher r-obtained than r-table (0.374 > 0.266). Furthermore, vocabulary mastery contributes 37,3% to reading comprehension. In addition, there is positive correlation between reading habit, vocabulary mastery, and reading comprehension because R-obtained is higher than r-table (0.374 > 0.266). They contribute 14% to reading comprehension. It means that 86% is contributed by other factors. Therefore, reading habit and vocabulary mastery should be considered by teachers in improving reading comprehension. Based on the research, vocabulary mastery must be the priority in increasing reading comprehension than reading habit.Vocabulary mastery is an important factor for students who want a good result in reading comprehension ability. Besides, the students are expected to have good reading habit. The students who have a good vocabulary mastery will have better reading comprehension than those who do not. Teacher should motivate their students for having many vocabularies by reading a lot and tell why the students should have a good reading habit.5.3 SuggestionBased on the conclusion and implication above, it can be suggested that:1. For the teachersBy knowing the contribution of students vocabulary mastery to reading comprehension, the teachers are expected to give more practices such as giving new words continually, giving times for asking both in and outside classroom, giving some tricks to understand words in reading lesson, let the students open the dictionary to find many meanings of words and always concerning on increasing students vocabulary.2. For the students The students should realize that reading comprehension is important. So, they must improve their reading skill doing more exercise in understanding reading passage. The students should realize that having many vocabularies can help them to understand reading text. So, it will be easier for them to comprehend a text. The students should realize that getting new vocabulary is not only from the teachers but also can be obtained by reading a lot.4. For other researchers It will be better if the researcher gives the questionnaire and the test to the students in the beginning of the period (in the morning) because they are still fresh. It will be better if the researcher uses readability test before giving the questionnaire and test to the students because it can help them to understand more about what the questions mean. It will be better if the researcher does not give all the questionnaire and test to the students directly (if it is too many), because it can be burden for them related to the concentration of answering questions. Hopefully, there will be other researchers who investigate similar topic. So, this study will be continued and there will be a better solution in improving students reading comprehension.
