Student Feedback
“ In the first year of the degree I felt very frustrated with the
high emphasis of business and tourism and felt there was no importance placed on events management, which is what I felt most passionate about. I began to feel the course wasn’t relevant to me and wasn’t allowing me to gain the
skills required to be an event manager’
29
Student Feedback
“Throughout year two and three I have been able to see the
importance of these modules and the transferrable skills they provide. In the long run I feel I have learnt more than I would have done in a degree which focused purely on events management. I have gained business and managerial knowledge which will allow me to go into different areas of industry in the future, meaning more prospects for jobs and
opportunities’

Student Feedback
“All that ran through my mind during my first year of study at
the University was ‘I’m here to study Event Management!’. I wondered when I would get to create and design my own events. Looking back, I realise how naïve this was of me to think in that way. How could someone with so little experience in the industry create and design their own event? All of these modules have taught me the key skills and tools that I will need to become a successful event
manager’
31
Student Feedback
“ I chose to study at the University of Chichester as the course
was designed on a practical basis, in conjunction with local event providers, to ensure that all students acquire the appropriate skills and experience to be able to work within the fastest growing and most dynamic sectors of the service economy…the first year of the course is about business and management; this is designed to build upon the students’ knowledge of business based subjects such as finance and marketing because these are vital aspects of the event
management industry’
