“But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, ‘Lord, save me.’ ” Matt. 14:30
The world really is a scary place –natural disasters, disease, terrorism,
and a hundred other things. But where do we place our hope, our
trust, and our vision? Where do we look for aid and comfort? When
Peter’s eyes were on the Lord, he had confidence. When he turned to look at his problems and took
his eyes off the Lord, he fell apart. Sometimes God’s call to support the work of His Church with our offerings makes us nervous. But put your eyes back on your Lord, trust Him, follow His Word, and
all will be well.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
DROP-IN COMMUNIONOur next Drop-In Communion sessions are scheduled for THIS week (Tue., Aug. 11th/9-10am or Thur., Aug. 13th/4:30-5:30pm). These are limited to 10 people who are socially distanced. Call the church office for 15 minute session availability.
IN OUR PRAYERSPrayer is a powerful tool and it is one of the easiest things we as Christians can do. You are always welcome to let the office know if you, a loved one, or a friend might be in need of prayer and we will include it in our prayers during worship. And, we rejoice when prayers are answered! If you no longer need to be included in our Sunday prayers, also please let us know.
EAGER BEREANThe August Eager Berean newsletter was sent out recently by email and conventional mail. Extra paper copies are also available at the information rack at church. Generally, the July/August newsletter has been a combined issue, but we figured with how quickly things change/update during this pandemic, we’d do separate issues this summer.
BEREA PRAYER BREAKFAST We have resumed meeting at Perkins on 84th & Lyndale at 8:00 a.m. each Wednesday! At present we are 4-6 individuals, so we sit together at a large, round table. Here is our usual agenda: Devotion/Prayer/Breakfast.
SUMMER FOOD DISTRIBUTION
Thanks to everyone who helped with the Food Distribution on August 1st! We had 14 volunteers who served 131 households/411 people here at Berea! Our next date is August 15th.
