It is a slow-growing, indolent neoplasia that can occur in all ages more frequently in females. The surgical removal of the mass is attractive owing to the ease execution in comparison with the risk of acute complications. The tri-port laparoscopic approach is safe and effective. Liver hemangiomas are congenital vascular malformations and are the most common benign liver tumors. Their prevalence varies from 5% to 20%. the risk of bleeding is related to hemangioma size. This study shows Axiostat enables early haemostasis which prevents much blood loss and the wound becomes very clean on removal of dressing for later wound suturing when compared to cotton gauze In this study, the haemostasis time with Axiostat was 2 mins. The haemostasis time was significantly shorter than the conventional method of applying manual compression with cotton gauze ,which usually requires around 20 min to achieve haemostasis. If bleeding is not controlled it can range from minor haematomas to life-threatening injuries to major intra-abdominal vessels Further there was no incidence of Axiostat related bleeding complications post 5 days after the secondary procedure. Overall, Axiostat was also found to be an excellent hemostatic dressing in patients undergoing any intraoperative procedures AXIOSTAT – 100% CHITOSAN HAEMOSTATIC DRESSING ON BLEEDING DUE TO LAPROSCOPIC TREATMENT OF LIVER HEMANGIOMA Sarvodya Hospital, Delhi-India: Dr. Balkishan Gupta Bleeding at the site of hemangia removal from the liver
