removes the option to select the Secure/Unsecure communications
• Corrected an issue where motion detection masks could not be configured from ACC for
certain Samsung cameras

Known issues in this release
• Computers running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 require Microsoft Security Update
KB3033929 to be installed in order to use ACC’s Remote Site Upgrade feature to update an
ACC Server to version 5.8. This Microsoft Security Update is required on both computers
running the ACC Client and the ACC Server if they are running these versions of Windows.
• Computers running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 (not R2) require Microsoft Security
Update KB2763674 in order to run the ACC 5.8 installers manually. ACC’s Remote Site
Upgrade feature is not able to install ACC 5.8 if either the Client or Server is running these
versions of Windows, even with the previously mentioned Microsoft Security Update installed.
• Systems not equipped with a compatible NVIDIA graphics card that support 4K decoding will
default to software decoding and exhibit video stuttering symptoms for 8MP cameras
operating using High Frame Rate mode. This affects Dell T5500 and HDVA systems.
• It is not possible to use the "Find Site" option in the ACC Gateway's web configuration interface
to manually add another server in the same ACC site. The web configuration page will hang
and the server will fail to be added.
• Attempting to define a digital output trigger duration greater than the maximum allowed of 60
minutes will correctly report an error, but it will not accept any further input. Workaround is to
close the dialog and start again.
• Opening the Site Health view may cause the ACC client to slow and become unresponsive for
sites that contain a large number of servers (>50). Workaround is to close the camera view tab.

Release Summary
This is a service release for Avigilon Control Center™ 5.8. Users experiencing issues listed in the
“Issues Fixed” list should consider upgrading to this release. This release also introduces a
selection of feature enhancements as described below. Users of previous versions of ACC 5 can

When configuring the resolution, administrators should be aware that network bandwidth and
storage requirements increase with higher resolutions and frame rates.
• ACC users who are in a higher rank in the corporate hierarchy can now see who has a lock on
a PTZ camera’s controls and can now override the lock. Users from the same rank cannot
override a lock from each other.
• ACC administrators are now warned and offered the option to create a new view when
modifying and saving an existing ACC view.
• The ACC POS Search results window now supports resizing the receipt column so text is no
longer cut off when viewing wide receipts.

Version 5.8.0.38 – Released Monday March 14th, 2016
Release Summary
This is a service release for Avigilon Control Center™ 5.8. Users experiencing issues listed in the
“Issues Fixed” list should consider upgrading to this release. In particular, deployments using H4A
8 megapixel cameras and Rialtos will benefit by upgrading due resolved issues listed below. ACC
5.8 deployments using H3 cameras should upgrade to this release. Further information can be
found in the H3 camera firmware release notes. Users of previous versions of ACC 5 can refer to
the earlier release notes that follow for further information on new features and issues resolved.
Issues Fixed
• Ensured the ACC 5.8 client is able to smoothly display video streams from 8 MP H4 cameras
configured to use High Frame Rate mode.
• Fixed an issue where analytics detection boxes were not being displayed for some 3rd party
cameras when linked with a Rialto and ACC 5.8 due the camera time not matching ACC time.
Ideally, cameras should have their times synchronized with ACC using a NTP time source. This
fix relaxes this requirement and uses only camera time.
• Resolved an issue where ACC 5.8 users without the ‘view recorded images’ group privilege
are unable to see the image panels’ recording indicator icons change state when the camera is
recording based on motion activity.
• Ensured that users can use the ACC Client to change the password for Avigilon H4 Pro series
cameras.
• Corrected an issue where the total bandwidth utilization for H4 Multisensor camera was
calculated and displayed incorrectly in the site health status report.
• Ensured that Oncam EVO-05LID cameras can be discovered and can reconnect to ACC 5.8 if
they are manually disconnected.
• Corrected an issue where when upgrading from ACC 4 to ACC 5, the ROI for an LPR lane is
being resized and moved.
• Ensured that manually discovered cameras can connect to ACC using port 443 and secure
communications.

• The LPR overlay is not displaying plate in ACC 5.8 clients when plate detected. LPR data is
being saved and plates can be searched. Workaround is to use ACC 5.6.2 client for LPR.
• Systems not equipped with a compatible NVIDIA graphics card that support 4K decoding will
default to software decoding and exhibit video stuttering symptoms for cameras operating
using High Frame Rate mode. This affects Dell T5500 and HDVA systems.
• System bug report functions correctly but the download bar does not display that the
download is complete.

Avigilon Control Center™ 5.8 Release Notes
Version 5.8.0.28 – Released Friday February 26th, 2016
Release Summary
This is a service release for Avigilon™ Control Center 5.8. Users experiencing issues listed in the
“Issues Fixed” list should consider upgrading to this release. In particular, deployments using the
ACC Gateway will benefit by upgrading due to the first fixed issue listed below. Users of previous
versions of ACC 5 can refer to the earlier release notes that follow for further information on new
features and issues resolved.
Issues Fixed
• Corrected an issue where the ACC Gateway could lock up and become unresponsive.
• Fixed an issue where the bandwidth was not displayed in the server Recording and Bandwidth
and camera Compression and Image Rate dialogs if the Client was using Slovak as the
language setting
• Ensured that the login screen password field is cleared after both successful and unsuccessful
login attempts
• Corrected an issue where the Export screen allowed a user to select a resolution for a JPEG
export larger than the camera's configured resolution
• Fixed an issue that could cause the upgrade from ACC 4.12 to ACC 5.8 to fail if the server has
the LPR plug-in installed and has recorded LPR data
• Corrected an issue that could cause ACC Server to crash in some situations if an error was
encountered while parsing an H.264 stream
• Removed a button in the HTML5 Web Client's interface that made it appear as though it is
possible to create an Export from the web client. It is not currently possible to create an Export
from the HTML5 Web Client, and the button was not intended to be included in the interface.
Known issues in this release
• ACC 5.8 users without the ‘view recorded images’ group privilege is unable to see the image
panels’ recording indicator icons change state when the camera is recording based on motion
activity.
• The ACC 5.8 Client doesn't allow a user to change the password for Avigilon H4 Pro series
cameras. It is still possible change these cameras’ passwords using the camera’s WebUI.
• The LPR overlay is not displaying plate in ACC 5.8 clients when plate detected. LPR data is
being saved and plates can be searched. Workaround is to use ACC 5.6.2 client.

Version 5.8.0.28 (continued)
Known issues in this release (continued)
• Analytics detection boxes aren't being displayed for some 3rd party cameras when linked with
a Rialto if the devices aren't time synchronized with the time used by ACC 5.8. The
workaround is to use the same NTP source as ACC for the devices. This issue was introduced
with the new metadata only streaming mode for Rialto devices with the initial ACC 5.8 release.
• It is not possible to switch an 8 MP H4 camera to High Frame Rate mode using ACC client, and
enabling this mode from the camera’s WebUI can prevent ACC from decoding the stream at
some zoom levels. This known issue will be addressed in a future service release for ACC 5.8.
• It is not possible to use the "Find Site" option in the ACC Gateway's web configuration interface
to manually add another server in the same ACC site. The web configuration page will hang
and the server will fail to be added.

Version 5.8.0.24 – Released Wednesday February 3rd, 2016
Release Summary
This is the initial release of Avigilon Control Center 5.8 and introduces many new features,
including support for Avigilon H4 cameras, the ability to change Avigilon camera passwords from
ACC, an ‘auto’ playback mode in the ACC Player, and official support for running ACC on Windows
10. This release is also a service release for ACC 5 and users experiencing issues listed in the
“Issues Fixed” list should consider upgrading to this release.
New Features
• Support for Avigilon H4 cameras and their new features, including idle scene mode which
enables bandwidth and storage savings when there is no motion or analytic activity in the
scene. One exception is High Frame Mode for the 8 MP H4 camera (see the first known issue
for more details)
• Official support has been added for running ACC on Windows 10
• It is now possible to change passwords for Avigilon cameras directly from ACC and to re-
authenticate cameras using different credentials without having to first disconnect and then
reconnect the cameras
• ACC Player has a new ‘auto’ playback mode which is active by default when an .AVE native
export is opened. This playback mode intelligently manages the views to only display cameras
that have recorded video at a particular time in the export
• The existing login dialog has been replaced with a new login screen that makes it possible to
select multiple sites to log into at a time
• The existing Server Status page has been replaced with a new Site Health page, which
provides an individual and summarized statuses of devices, servers, and child sites in a Site
Family in one location.
• The Camera Connect/Disconnect tab now supports connecting and disconnecting multiple
cameras at a time
• A new Client display setting was introduced that allows a user to display the camera time
overlay in the device’s local time (instead of the local Client time, which is the default)
• When a user logs into a Parent site in a Site Family, Child sites are added to the list of
discovered sites in the Client, avoiding the need to manually Find or discover them in most
cases. Note that the Client must be able to communicate directly with each of the Child sites in
order for the sites to appear in the Client, so there are some deployments such as where NAT
is involved where this feature won’t work. In such cases, continuing to manually add the Sites
to the Client is still possible.

Version 5.8.0.24 (continued)
New Features (continued)
• The Site View Editor now supports multi-select operations, allowing multiple items, such as
cameras and folders, to be moved at a time
• Using the Site View Editor, an administrator can configure the default expansion of items in the
system tree for all users
• Communication security between Avigilon H.264 cameras and ACC Server has been
enhanced. While previous versions of ACC always secured the exchange of credentials for
authentication, all control communication can now be secured (encrypted) as well. This only
applies to control data (the video streams are not encrypted) and is enabled by default for
supported Avigilon cameras. A new lock icon is used to indicate the Secure status in the
Camera Connect/Disconnect tab.
• Under the General camera setup, it is possible to disable the display of analytic bounding
boxes in all live and recorded views for a specific camera. This overrides the Client overlay
display setting for all users and only affects the display behaviour (features like Classified
Object Search and using analytic event configurations as rule triggers remain available when
this setting is enabled)
• The keyframe interval is now displayed in a seconds value (in addition to frames) in the
Compression and Image Rate dialog, making it easier to determine how often a keyframe will
be sent
• ACC can now stream only analytic metadata from IP Rialto analytic appliances and receive the
video directly from the linked camera. This provides a lower bandwidth usage than previous
ACC releases (as video was streamed from both the camera and the Rialto) and allows HDSM
to be used between the Server and the Client. The Rialto must have its firmware manually
upgraded to version 4.7 or later.
• Increased support for a number of newer models of Axis cameras.
• Central Station Notifications now support configuring a periodic heartbeat message to be sent
to the Central Station provider
Issues Fixed
• The connection between a Rialto analytic appliance and a camera now uses UDP for
streaming, and this avoids issues when using Rialto and ACC with FLIR cameras. When
upgrading, it may be necessary to manually disconnect and relink the camera with the Rialto.
• Fixed an issue where camera connection restored events could be generated when the ACC
Server shuts down

Version 5.8.0.24 (continued)
Issues Fixed (continued)
• Fixed an issue where a VMA monitor’s status was incorrectly indicated as inaccessible in the
system tree for users that didn’t have the “initiate collaboration” group privilege but did have
the privilege to manage virtual matrix monitors.
• Ensured that the site name is included in the backup file used by the settings backup and
restore feature, when site level settings are selected to be included.
• Corrected an issue where a user editing a map on one Client could cause all other Clients to
display it as a blank image
• Ensured that after the ACC Gateway service is restarted, Live Export continues naming
exported images based on the last used index rather than restarting from 1
• Fixed an issue where connecting an IQEye IQ865N camera could cause ACC Server to crash
• Improved the accuracy of the warning message provided to the user when attempting to
export video from more cameras than can be displayed in a preview at a time (64 cameras)
• Fixed an issue on the ACC Gateway that caused a PTZ camera to incorrectly zoom all the way
in or all the way out when an ACC Mobile user used the zoom controls in the app
• Ensured that Rialto channels connected to a standby server display the blue standby screen
for their video streams
• Ensured that the motion detection mask used in the Motion Detection setup screen was
correctly scaled for Axis cameras that are configured with a 4:3 aspect ratio
• Fixed an issue that prevented the data aging profile from being updated when the secondary
stream is disabled on one of the heads of an Avigilon HD Multisensor camera
• Ensured that the area of focus for the timeline moves to reflect a new date and time when
entered by a user
• Fixed an issue that could cause the Client to exit full screen mode when a keyboard shortcut
was used
• Ensured that POS events associated with video covered by a protected bookmark aren't
deleted when they would have otherwise been aged out
• Corrected an issue that caused PTZ focus controls for Axis cameras to be reversed in ACC
from the behavior when using the camera's WebUI
• Corrected an issue that prevented an ACC Server from providing help files to a Client if it was
previously part of a multi-server site and later removed from the site

Issues Fixed (continued)
• Corrected an issue that could cause the preview shown in the Export preview window to be
distorted for Sony HM662 cameras when the lens type was set to panamorph
• Fixed an issue that prevented PTZ patterns from being recorded for Panasonic WV-SC386
cameras
• Corrected an issue that could cause part of the image to be missing for 6K and 7K Avigilon HD
Pro cameras when privacy zone(s) were configured
• Ensured that the correct cameras were selected when starting a Motion Search from the
results of a Bookmark Search
• Ensured that exports created from a specific bookmark, do not have the bookmark displayed in
the timeline in the ACC Player
• Removed the ability to select multiple sites and change their connection mode in the
discovered sites list in the ACC Gateway's web configuration page, as this is unsupported and
each site must have its connection mode modified individually
• Ensured that the Admin Panel only accepts a valid port number as the Base Port configuration
• Ensured that the motion detection mask used in the Motion Detection setup screen was
correctly rotated for Axis cameras that have image rotation enabled
• Prevented the ACC Client from crashing in the scenario that a user attempts to save a map that
was edited, after already logging out of the site
• Ensured that the ACC Gateway doesn't request a client side certificate from a web browser,
and therefore doesn't prompt the user to select a client certificate to use. A client side
certificate is not required to connect to the Gateway over HTTPS
• Ensured that an 'invalid item submitted' dialog isn't incorrectly displayed to the user the first
time image rotation is configured for an Avigilon camera
• Corrected an issue that caused the wrong pre-trigger record time to be used the first time a
manual recording was initiated by the user
• Fixed an issue that caused the External Notifications window to close when attempting to add
a new email address to an email group and pressing the 'Enter' key to confirm
• Fixed a case where the ACC Client could crash if attempting to reset the motion mask in
Motion Detection setup before the camera's preview has loaded
• Corrected an issue that caused some LPR lines to be missing after upgrading from ACC 4.12 to
ACC 5
• Ensured that connection mode (i.e. LAN/WAN) for a site is only updated in the Client's Site
Networking settings if saved by the user

image panels didn't work correctly on some versions of the Safari browser.
Known issues in this release
• It is not possible to switch an 8 MP H4 camera to High Frame Rate mode using ACC, and
enabling this mode from the camera’s WebUI can prevent ACC from decoding the stream at
some zoom levels. This known issue will be addressed in the first service release for ACC 5.8.
• The ACC Gateway can lock up and become unresponsive in some cases. This is an existing
issue from ACC 5.6.2 and earlier.

• It is not possible to use the "Find Site" option in the ACC Gateway's web configuration interface
to manually add another server in the same ACC site. The web configuration page will hang
and the server will fail to be added.
