To change ones own selrst is a dicult taskbut that is how we can eecta change around us. Bexpecting others to changethemselves without taking an

step to change onesel willresult in dissatisaction andunhappiness.

For making a change, ou haveto act in this world. Think othe realit (Brahman) anddo whatever ou want to do.Change comes when oumove rom sel-centeredness(inabilit to accommodate

anthing beond our owninterests) to unselshness andthen nall to selfessness. The ormula o success is tomove rom selsh desires to

unselsh desires to selfessdesires. B our own acts, makeour home become a centreor happiness. Then the worldwill compliment ou. you arethe architect o our ortunes.

you are the architect o ourmisortunes. Eradicate ourVasanas (Unullled Desires)so that mind and intellect isabsorbed in the truth. Thenou merge with the realit.I ou are determined to behealth, our mind will thinkabout being health. Mind andintellect get absorbed in thisrealit and ou merge with

the truth. We could be calledBrahman - proo. Brahmanis a word or God. Brahmanis Allah in Islam and Jesus inChristianit. God is beond

human conception. He has nobirth and death. you cannotperceive god. you can onlbecome God.

    Human Desire = God.

you have got to use lie to ndthe truth. For this to happen,Change oursel not the world.

Tell oursel I will changemsel ever da in everwa. I told with Bhakti anddevotion, ou will nd a changein oursel and urther noticethe changes happening aroundou. Whatever happens in

wherever I go. What is thedierence between school andLie? In school, oure taughta lesson and then given a test.In lie, oure given a test thatteaches ou a lesson.

President John F. Kennedin his inaugural address inJanuar 1961, mentioned tothe ellow Americans, Ask notwhat our countr can do orou Ask what ou can do orour countr. JFK told theellow citizens o the world,Ask not what America will door ou, but what together we

can do to the reedom o man.

Mahatma Gandhi said, youmust be the Change ou wishto see in the world. We shouldremember; where there isLove there is Lie. Happinessis when what ou think, whatou sa, and what ou do arein harmon. In order to bringabout positive change in the

world we need not onl engagewith the outer world but alsoengage with our inner world.I we want to see greaterawareness in the world, we haveto cultivate awareness. I wewant to see greater harmonand less strie, we need tolearn to become more adeptat handling our emotions andlearn to respond to rustrationswith more patience andkindness than we do at present.

Meditation helps us torecognize unhelpul emotionalpatterns and to develop themental reedom to chooseresponses that are morehelpul. Among the virtuesthat Lord Krishna mentionedto Arjuna, at the oremost was,Never hate anone. Thecultivation o love and kindnesshelps us to nd alternative andmore compassionate responses.

Meditation helps us to be thechange we wish to see in theworld. The thought o Changecomes rom within. When ouhave understood the benetso Change, ou have to do

Nidhithasanam and be anexample or others to ollow.

We should know that naturecannot be changed becausewhat cannot be changed isnature. Wisdom or intelligenceis preparing the mind toaccept the choiceless orhelpless situations without

an resistance. Success is notconquering the whole world.Success is accepting everthingou get as a git rom God.B repeating to ourselves(meditation / Nidhithasanam)and repeating to our mind thatI am willing to undergo thechoiceless situations, we getreedom rom stress. Exampleso choiceless situations areold age, incurable disease, separation rom someoneetc. The onl one who can bechanged b me is msel. Prato the Bagawan, O Lord; giveme the courage to change whatcan be changed i.e. msel.O lord give me the serenitto understand the dierencethat others cannot be changedand that I should onl changemsel.

Begin with oursel and be thechange agent. you can set anexample or others to ollow. This positive approach willdenitel ield good results.

The ollowing words are said tobe written on the tomb o anAnglican bishop in the crpts oWestminster abbe in London,England.

When I was oung and reeand m imagination had nolimits, I dreamed o changingthe world. As I grew older andwiser, I discovered the world

    would not change

So I shortened m sightssomewhat and decided tochange onl m countr, but ittoo seemed immovable.

As I grew into m twilight ears,in one last desperate attempt,I settled or changing onl mamil, those closest to me, but

alas, the would have none o it.

And now I realise as I lieon m death bed, I I hadonl changed msel rst, then b example I wouldhave changed m amil. From their inspiration andencouragement, I would thenhave been able to better mcountr.

And who knows, I might haveeven changed the world.

Let us be the actor o change.Change oursel rst, andsee the change in the worldaround ou thereater. Startwith oursel and ou can ndour lie peaceul and joul.It is dicult to change but notimpossible. Ever human beingcan make a lie or himsel.

When one door closes, another opens; but we oten look so long and so long and so regretullyupon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened or us.
