FaithfullyYours A publication of Bethel Presbyterian Church – PC (USA) August 2020

2020 will vw remembered as the year a deadly invasion struck planet earth. The invader was too small to be seen with a normal microscope, but in a matter of months the world changed in profound ways. It has greatly damaged the world economy. Millions were out of work, and it shrunk our tazx base. It has forced governments to spend trillions of dollarws to fight its effects. Now, with the riots and protests, lawlessness is taking over. I remember the attack on the World Trade Center on 9-11. Our country seemed to unite almost overnight. Today, our country is more divided than in my memory. Many people have no respect for our flag or our history. Statues of our forefathers are being destroyed, and it is only getting worse. The protest started after the tragic death of George Floyd, but it has progressed from there. George Floyd is no longer mentioned in all the chaos. The very center of our democracy is in turmoil. There is no cooperation within our governing body. What is going to happen next? As Christians, we need to remain strong. We need to spend much time in prayer, walking in faith and confidence. We should live every moment in expectation of the rapture. But we shouldn’t just passively wait for that event. We should be using every means possible to spread the Godpel to everyone we can. Our witness should be honest and bold, but also kind and loving. No matter how frustrated we become with the behavior of those around us, we should use these days to bless them. With the finish line so close, let us rise to new levels in God. These opportunities will no come again.

“For God has said, I will never fail you,

I will never forsake you” (Hebrews 13:8 NLT)
