LIFE TOGETHER

Go to www.stewardshiptoday.org to get your online copy of Stewardship Today, a monthly publication for parishioners to embrace the importance of stewardship in daily living.

Dear Friends,

This week the participants in the recently completed Christ Renews His Parish Men’s Retreat held a follow up session which included faith sharing and fellowship. I am grateful to the men who participated as well as to those on the team. I think that holding this retreat yearly offers the men of the parish an opportunity to be on a retreat close to home. Some may want another kind of men’s retreat and I recommend the Men’s Retreats at Manresa House of Retreats near Convent, LA. This Jesuit Retreat house offers men’s retreats every week of the year.

This coming week will be a RCIA open house. What is this? Its an open house for people who are unbaptized or baptized in another religion, or baptized Catholic but never receive the Eucharist to come and see. This Open House will be an open door for folks to come see what and how our parish can help them in their search. Wednesday, September 1st at 7:00 PM in the Library.

Bishop Muench will be coming to the campus on Friday, September 3rd to celebrate Mass with the School community and spend time with the students and faculty. It will be good to have him on campus again.

Happily, the JustFaith third session will begin on campus. These people will participate in the study of Catholic Social Justice teachings which are the foundation out of which the parish responds to those in need.

Mr. Craig Baker, parish Youth Minister, has begun again weekly Parish Life Nights on Wednesday, evenings for High School students. These nights will include ample time for fun, food, faith and prayer.

I am grateful to those who indicated their willingness to continue in ministry or begin in a new ministry through our recently completed Ministry Stewardship. The parish Pastoral Council of Ministers will coordinate the contact made by the chairs of the various committees and those who gave us their names.

Hope your week is going well. Pray for one another and the parish. Love,
