Quoting Enhancement

An enhancement has been com-

pleted by FDC Solutions Inc.

(FDC) in conjunction with the

Caterpillar PartStore team to pro-

vide customers the ability to cre-

ate, review, and activate quote

documents using PartStore. From

a procedural standpoint, the

quote creation is identical to the

Sale Document creation process

in PartStore with the exception of

the final action taking place on

the Place Order Screen. The

quote functionality will mimic the

DBS quote creation process

performed in CRTCTRSL.

The part prices will be locked

and the inventory will not be

held. The taxes and other

miscellaneous charges will be

estimated until the official or-

der is placed at which point

the charges will be recalculat-

ed for the document.

for assistance.

DICE Projects Update

Retirement of Packed Layout

In order to allow implementation of the Ster-

ling Integrator (SI) mailbox system, all mail-

box interfaces must use “unpacked” field file

layouts. This requires changes to a number of

mailbox interfaces that still used “packed

field” fie layouts. FDC Solutions Inc. (FDC)

has made the necessary changes and are in

the process of pilot testing the affected inter-

faces listed below.

Warranty Claims Web Service

Phase 1 of the Warranty Claims Web Service

project replaced the LU6.2 interface with a

web service interface for warranty claims

transmissions. This interface is now available

for implementation.

Phase 2 retires the mailbox interface and in-

cludes changes within the DBS warranty and

workorder screens to allow for new fields

CAT will be requiring on claims in the future.

This Phase is currently in pilot testing and will

be rolled out shortly.

Parts Bargain List Interface

Would you like to receive the Parts Bargain

List electronically from CAT? FDC Solutions

Inc. (FDC) can provide documentation to FDC

supported ERP dealers with instructions on

how to download the file and display if a part

number is available on the Bargain List at the

time of sale and when consulting Parts Avail-

ability.

Test Environment Refresh Tool

Refreshes DBS/DBSi Test Environment

Is the data in your test environ-

ment outdated and in need of a

refresh? FDC Solutions Inc.

(FDC) has developed a Test

Environment Refresh Tool for

dealers to use on DBS/DBSi.

The framework is customized

for each dealer providing the

ability to refresh environments

quickly and accurately without

wiping out development pro-

gress, test environment settings,

or overlaying certain parameters

from production.

These tasks generally take a

considerable amount of time –

and the FDC product reduces

this effort to executing a com-

mand on the system.

Additions to FDC Staff and Extended Family

We are pleased to introduce the

newest members of FDC Solutions

Inc. (FDC) and its extended family:

Robert Packtor

joined FDC in

June 2014. He is

an IT profession-

al with extensive

dealer experi-

ence and a

strong emphasis on customer ser-

vice. Robert has worked over 26

years in Information Services and

has accumulated a comprehensive

skill set in all phases of applications,

including systems analysis, design,

coding, testing, training, and imple-

mentation. Over 20 years of his ex-

perience has been working on the

AS400 platform in addition to work-

ing with other organizations to pro-

vide interfaces and linkages for data

exchange. In his free time, he enjoys

reading, playing with his dogs, and

working around his house.

Jeremy Lindley and his wife

Amy welcomed Rosabelle Hope

into their family on June 8,

2014. She was 7 lbs.,3 oz. and

19.75 inches long. We, along

with Rosabelle’s big brother

and sister, Braden and Aubree,

share in their happiness and

congratulate them on the littlest
