CoZzzy Comfy Fundraiser You may ask yourself how you can help the fundraiser if you are miles away. CoZzzy Comfy can be purchased online! Go to www.CoZzzyComfy.com and, at checkout, select DON-Hathor, Temple No. 38. Enter Hathor Temple in the student/group member name box as we will be having a separate sheet for the Temple to sell and the contribution from your purchase will go onto that. There is more information about CoZzzy Comfy on page 4 of this newsletter. Any questions about this fundraiser can be directed to Allison Vergin at 402-616-8220 or [email protected] I hope everyone has been staying cool during these very warm summer days. I am very excited to be heading back into session after being dark for two months! Even though we have not been meeting for stated sessions, there are still many things happening as we prepare for the next season of Nile. Supreme session is still fresh in our minds. We were blessed to have several members attend: Paula Gunn, PQ; Carol Nelson, PQ; Pr. Samantha Gunn; Pr. Dianna Spirk; and Yours Truly. Our newsletter won first place for excellence! We are extremely proud of Pr. Samantha Gunn and Pr. Allison Vergin for their hard work! I went a day early to attend Ceremonial Assistant training. It was a wonderful learning experience, and one for which I am truly grateful. Pr. Dianna represented us well by singing in the Supreme Chorus. I was honored to sing two solos at the memorial service. Our beautiful and gracious Supreme Queen, Sharon St. John, will be visiting us on Wednesday, September 30. If you are working and can make plans to get off that afternoon, we would be very thankful. I know it will mean so much to the Supreme officers in attendance to see a full room, including officers and Ladies of the Household. The festivities begin at 2:00, and the banquet is at 5:30. You can also come just to the banquet, and feel free to bring family or an escort. We will have a Tex-Mex themed meal. It promises to be fun for all! Please let Pr. Samantha know if you will be helping out with the Sat-ra Kids Carnival on August 9 from 1-4 pm. We are going to have a great time partnering with our neighboring Temple for this fundraiser! We are saddened at the passing of Pr. Dorothy Dodge, and Helen Bradbury, PQ. These faithful members will be remembered for their dedication to our Order. On August 8, the theme for our session will be Beauty and the Beast. Wear something yellow (even an accessory: scarf, necklace, or ribbon will do!), and bring books for the TC S h r i n e Children's Hospital. WEBSITE Your pictures are needed to complete our photo albums on our website! Any pictures from Ceremonials, Installation, Supreme Session, Hathor Temple members enjoying an event, working together at a fundraiser, or anything else you can think of, we would love to have them all! Please include a brief description, who is in it, and the year they are from so we can get them into the

Continued from first page. Bring a name and address of a prospective member to the meeting. We will have proposals ready and help you fill them out. You don't need to discuss it with her first or get her permission. If a good lady is eligible, she can be proposed for membership. This is the way we can grow our membership and be able to do more good work for the Shrine Hospital patients. Finally, I wanted to say that Ladies of the Household and Past Queens who are not officers are welcome to come to the Stated Sessions and be admitted after the opening, at approximately 1:30 if anyone wants to attend just the business portion of the meeting. Members can also attend just the luncheon at 11:30. You don't need to dress up. Slacks are appropriate for anyone who is not an officer. The bottom line: We just want to see your beautiful faces and encourage your involvement. We love all of our members and want everyone to feel welcome!

May peace and harmony be with you. !Blooming in Nile love,

Queen Julie

School is about to be back in session and so are we. The Fundraising Committee had met over the summer and came up with a great money maker for Hathor Temple. CoZzzy Comfy. What is it you may ask? It's a linen fundraiser that was founded to give back to the community. CoZzzy Comfy is 1200 thread count luxury linen for only $40 per set whether you are purchasing for a twin on up to a California king! The first orders will be handed in at our September Session and we should receive the linen by our October Session. Every month we will turn in new orders with the final order being turned in during our March Session. Come to Session to learn more and get your packet!

z Membership z

We haven't seen many of you in a while and we are missing your presence! Call another member and bring them with you to Session. Hathor Temple depends on the members being active and getting involved to strive toward it's fullest potential. We've been great in the past so let's keep that fire going!

As always, we are looking for eligible prospects to join our wonderful organization. The Membership Committee has been working on new Membership Drives to expand our membership. Look for those in upcoming newsletters as well as our website and Facebook pages. Don't forget you can always propose a woman for membership. Strike up a conversation and let them know we are here!

Past Queen, Paula Gunn Membership Committee Chairman

z Travel the Sands of Nile z

Each Princess of our organization has a history that is important to her office. The past of each Princess brings greater understanding to her as an individual and as a servant to the Queen.

Princess Tirzah - Was the sister of Ben Hur. The Romans threw her into prison because of her belief in Jesus Christ. Since the prison was a dungeon filled with dampness and without light, she contracted leprosy. She was a woman of strong faith, beautiful to

behold, and sweet in character and personality. Later, Jesus healed her personally. Knowing this, the lecture of Princess Tirzah becomes more beautiful.

Do you remember why Daughters of the Nile exists? It's for the Shriner's Hospitals for Children! The Hospitals will always take donations, so let's get a box items together to be taken to them each month! This is also a great way to stay connected if you can't attend Session regularly. If you forget your items you can always bring them to the next Session. We can help to make everyday special for the children and their families! You can also contact Queen Julie at 712-574-2664 and she can pick them up from you. Please do not take items to the Shrine Office. !

Items include: Gift Cards to Toys R Us, McDonald's, and Walmart, Disposable Cameras, Hotel Shampoos and Soaps,

Batteries, and Miscellaneous Toiletries.

Everyone please stand. !Pretend we are a car, the Past Queens may sit down as they have driven the car and are now the support group in waiting. That leaves you ladies. Each one of you has a driver's license to drive this car. It's called a "Dues Card" !Now, if we do not have a driver for our car we must remove it from the road and take it to the DUMP! Is that what you want for our car??? Is that what you want for our Temple? Because that is exactly where we are headed. WE must have three drivers in waiting, Princess Royal, Princess Tirzah, and Princess Badoura. Which appeals to YOU? I am very serious. You may sit down. !We are in a very serious situation. We do NOT have the three vital "operators to drive our car" and we are not going anywhere unless we get three eligible drivers. What more can I say? Please don't walk out the door this evening thinking "who could fill these important positions?" Think of doing it YOURSELF!!! You may say I can't memorize.... READ IT!!! We have a book all written out for you to use. It is called a Ritual. (Every Queen's Bible.) !You will not travel the road alone. The car will be filled with trained Nile Mechanics each with a wealth of Nile knowledge. Reference maps/books to show you the way with continued maintenance from the Supreme Temple and Past Queens. You will have all the assistance for a speedy and comfortable trip. One that

will bring you much pleasure and satisfaction when visiting a Shriners Hospital knowing you assisted in the continuation of "Oronto Temple's" generosity and love for the children. !It is the CHILDREN who will miss our Temple as much as we shall. IT IS UP TO YOU!!!!! !Much Love, PSQ Rhona

The following was written by Past Supreme Queen M. Rhona Kerr of Oronto Temple No. 69 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She read this to her temple but the shoe does fit for many temples. Yours included. Printed with permission from the author.
