Post-secondary education or tertiary education is divided into University education available from Universities and Higher Technological Education, which is provided by the Technological Educational Institutes. There is also special education provided by the Higher Education Institutes.

Jules Dassin (1911-2008) - Jules Dassin was an Academy Award-nominated director, screenwriter and actor best known for his films Rififi, Never on Sunday and Topkapi. He died on March 31, 2008 in Athens, Greece at age 96 from complications caused by the flu.
Giorgos Foundas (1924-2010) - Giorgos Foundas was an actor and producer, known for Never on Sunday, Zorba the Greek and Stella. He died on November, 28, 2010 in Athens, Greece of Alzheimer’s disease.

The borders of Greece have changed many times in history. In ancient times, Greek colonies existed along the coasts of the Mediterranean from Spain to the Middle East until the late Classical Era. Greeks also inhabited the shores around the Black Sea. The conquests of Alexander the Great lead to Greece’s borders reach as far as Egypt, India and Bactria until 30 BCE.
After 30 BCE and the death of Cleopatra, Greece was made part of the Byzantine Empire by the foundation of Constantinople. However, after the fall of Constantinople to the Turks in 1453, Greece became property of the Ottoman Empire.
The modern borders of Greece were created by conflict and successful wars after the 1821 revolution of the Greeks against Ottoman rule and up until 1950s.
