GEORGE R . ARI YOSH IGOVERNOR
MESSAGE FROM GOVERNOR GEORGE R. ARIYOSHIANNUAL CONVENTION OF THE ASSOCIATION OF HAWAHAN CIVIC CWBS
May 3-5, 1919
I am pleased to extend to all the officers and members of the Association ofHawaiian Civic Clubs my congratulations and best wishes as you hold your annualconvention in Baldwin High School Auditorium on the Valley Isle, May 3 to 5, 1979.
The theme of your convention this year is Ka 'Ike, No'eau, Ho'olale - Eo 0 KaHo'ona'auao (Knowledge, Wisdom, Insight - The Gains of Education). This is,indeed, a noble theme, entirely consistent with the heritage of old Hawaii and theneeds of our changing State. Education is a golden key to greatness when it isproperly understood as the unfolding, development and enrichment of the wholeperson. It is in developing a deep appreciation of what is past that we gain thewisdom to plan the future.
Your convention will bring together many people who are living treasures ofwisdom, knowledge and insight. They are educated in the noblest sense of thatword, and they will have an opportunity to share their eduction with others. And asthey share, they gain a deeper understanding of life and the meaning of aloha.- . --
We hope your Maui convention will be a great success, and that yourAssociation will be strengthened by this coming together and working in unison forthe betterment of our Island people.
