ICT in ELT 2012 Morning shift -UTN

LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD AND THE WOLF

PREPARATION & SITTING- We arrange the class to listen to the story making the students sit properly, in a circle around the teacher.- We show them the cover of the book and encourage them to make predictions about the story they are going to hear.

STORY- We tell the story, including gestures and body language trying to avoid interruptions.

ACTIVITIES- Once the story is finished, JQuiz activity on "Little Red Riding Hood" in small groups of 3 or 4. (Main objective: to check comprehension and vocabulary of the story. Food in the basket, Where is granny's house, parts of the body of the wolf, etc.)- We check orally the correct the answers with the teacher, using flashcards. - JMatch activity to work with the 5 senses and the parts of the body.

CONCLUSION- We give the students finger puppets to color them, if there is time left.

PREPARATION & SETTING

- We give the students a link with a video to watch at their houses about the begginings of the story of “the little mermaid” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhKESMmZJMs

- We discuss what they saw and what predictions can they make according to that background.

STORY- The students listen to the story making a circle around the teacher.- We tell the story, including gestures and body language trying to avoid interruptions and making the story interesting and vivid in order to engage them with it.

ACTIVITIES

- We ask them to complete a JCloze activity on "The Little Mermaid" in groups of 3 or 4 in the school computers room. (To check comprehension and vocabulary of the story)

- Together we check orally the correct the answers with the teacher, using flashcards.

PREPARATION & SETTING

- We give the students a link with a video to watch at their houses of the story of “RUMPELSTINTSKIN” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvRLx5O8ZpM

- We discuss what they saw and what has called their attention the most, in class.

STORY- The students listen to the story in class again to refresh their memories and to comment on it.

ACTIVITIES

- We ask them to complete a JCross activity on "Rumpelstiltskin" in groups of 3 or 4 . (To check comprehension and vocabulary of the story)

- Together we check orally the correct the answers with the teacher, using a smartboard.
