HONG KONG – DECEMBER 11, 2014 – Jointly organised by Hong Kong Education City and Diversified Communications Hong Kong and fully supported by the Education Bureau, Hong Kong SAR, the fifth edition of Learning & Teaching Expo opened this morning. With the officiating guest and opening keynote speaker Mr. Eddie Ng Hak Kim, SBS, JP, Secretary for Education, Education Bureau, Hong Kong SAR hosting the opening ceremony with other honourable guests, Learning & Teaching Expo pledged to continue leading the education community to explore the future development of education with a global perspective.

improve their WiFi infrastructure. In addition Mr. Ng indicated that Hong Kong Education City had been a very close partner to the Education Bureau in promoting eLearning in Hong Kong, and Learning & Teaching Expo had great contribution to encourage international cooperation in educational development.

Learning & Teaching Expo 2014, which takes place from 11th to 13th December (Thursday to Saturday) in Hall 5BC of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, opens to educational professionals only. The three-day Expo aims at providing an international and professional platform for school leaders, teachers and other educators in the Asia Pacific region to exchange ideas in education and explore the latest trends of educational development. With the theme “Welcome to the Future of Learning”, Learning and Teaching Expo 2014 hosts a combination of more than 200 exhibition booths plus a comprehensive programme of seminars and presentations delivered by renowned education experts coming from China, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and the UK discussing the strategies and solutions for implementing inclusive education, innovation of eLearning, transformation of education, role of school leaders, and development of language learning and game-based learning.

Mr. Victor Cheng Pat Leung, Executive Director of Hong Kong Education City said, “This year the development of IT in education has a very fruitful result with the government announcing the Fourth Strategy on Information Technology in Education which includes the use of eTextbook and the support to the local schools on WiFi infrastructure establishment. 4. Full Support from Schools across Hong Kong Principals and Curriculum Coordinators from different schools in Hong Kong will share

their experience in school management and demonstrate the solutions for ICT education, including game-based learning.

16 sessions of school visit are arranged in which participants are able to get a glimpse on the best practices of using IT in education and using innovative and effective pedagogies through various activities including classroom observation, discussion and school tour.

Learning & Teaching Expo visitors include principals, teachers, pre-service teachers, school administration and management, education professionals, government officials and other industry players.

5. Support the Establishment of Future School

Exhibits and seminars are all about eLearning resources, applications, hardware and software, equipment, learning and teaching solutions, school management system, classroom furniture and supplies which are vital for establishing future school.
