RENEWABLE DESIGN CONCEPTCombination of Vernacular and Modern Building Materialsin Ningbo Museum, Yizhou China to Achieve Sustainable Design Features.WA PAN TECHNIQUECollecting materials from demolished site.

Assemble using masonry technique.

Response to scourge such as typhoons.

Allowing people to rebuild the houses faster using the fragments.

Usually fragments include terracotta tiles, stones and bricks.

LOW COST DESIGN CONCEPTCombination of Vernacular and Modern Building Materialsin Ningbo Museum, Yizhou China to Achieve Sustainable Design Features.RECYCLING MATERIALSUsage of leftover bricks, terracotta tiles and brick block from old demolished buildings.

Usage of easily found local materials.

INNOVATIVE DESIGN CONCEPTCombination of Vernacular and Modern Building Materialsin Ningbo Museum, Yizhou China to Achieve Sustainable Design Features.BAMBOO - CEMENT TECHNIQUEDuring the Hwang Ho civilization, humans used timber as building structure and mud to cover the structural frame.

Use to prevent water from coming in, hide from wild animals, hide from scourge and also a place to rest.

Timber structural frame is replaced by bamboo.

Mud is replaced with cement.

In Conclusion,

Sustainability Design is achieve through the mixture of vernacular and modern building materials.

Wa Pan technique is a method reusing the demolition sites materials, achieving the Renewable Design concept.

Using back Wa Pan & timber-mud technique in a modern building is an Innovation for the modern era.
