    The Ashwoods RWD Hybrid Drive System iscategorised as a Not Off Vehicle charging (NOVC)Torque Assist Mild Hybrid System. The AshwoodsHybrid Drive works to reduce fuel consumption byrecovering energy that would normally be wastedduring braking and deceleration events.The energy is recovered by a permanent magnetAsynchronous Motor/Generator (PMAC) that isconnected to the vehicles driveline. The energythat is recovered is then stored in a Lithium Iron

    Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery pack. The storedenergy can then be used to deliver Torque Assistto the vehicle during acceleration events when itsengine is at its least efcient therefore reducingfuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

    RWD Hybrid Drive System

    The IPM contains the control electronics, tractioninverter and batteries pack.The MGM consist of the motor generator andpower transmission.The DDI provides real time information to thedriver on the hybrid systems behaviour andalso encourages the driver to optimally use thehybrid system through appropriate driving style

    The power transmission from the MGM to thevehicle drive line is by way of a High Torqueasynchronous belt drive which has a 20,000 mileservice interval in normal operation. Both the IPMand MGM are factory sealed units that requireno user servicing or maintenance.
