Introduction

• For my Media project I had the choice to do a film sequence or a print project; producing a front cover, content page and a double page article for music magazine.

• I decided to do the print project.• I had to work individually • I also had to write an article for

my double page article. • Also I had to put a minimum of

four images on my project.

Question 1: What does the title suggest to you?

• Out of the 10 people 10 said it was an music magazine focused on the female target audience of teenagers and young adults.

• Several people say the title of the magazine “Turn It Up” gave them the clue that is was a music magazine because you can turn the volume up of music.

Question 2: What genre/type of music does the magazine focus on and how

do you know this?• Out of 10 people 9 though the magazine was

RnB genre music magazine and the target audience are female teenagers and young adults..

• However one person thought it was a pop genre music magazine but recognised the target audience.

• After reading peoples answers it suggests the title “ Turn it Up” gave away the clue that it was a music magazine.

• The genre was identified by this cover line on the front cover which was the “98 Hot RnB music albums.” The genre is clearly written on the front cover. Cover line that

suggested the genre to the audience.

• The colour theme and the cover lines suggested that it was based around females. One cover line was “New looks” and another person suggested “We love tricks from the trade.”

Question 3: What make the pages look professional and what stops them form looking professional? Overall the answers to this question were that my pages look like professional magazines such as “Cosmopolitan”. This was pleasing to hear as my aim was to bring “Cosmopolitan” techniques into my music magazine and I was successful allowing my magazine to be unique from other magazines.

Also people mentioned other features in their answers such as colour theme, images, font and layout that was used in my final piece. It is nicely come together as the audience have recognised all the elements which I am very proud of producing.

Answer from the questionnaire :“The colours that were used reflected well with the pictures as the artists costume was black and grey. The same as the colour theme. This looked very professional”

Question 4: How genuine does the front cover seem?

All the feedbacks said it was a very well produced front cover which was eye- catching, persuasive and unique. The colour theme was a good the to choose from as the colours are a mixture of both dull and bright.

Question 5: Does the contents page simply inform or does it also manage to interest you in reading the rest of the magazine?

• Out of 10 people four said it informs them however the other 6 said it interests them.

• The content page was well structured but is wasn’t as appealing as I thought it would be.

• However most people said it was interesting the content page.

Question 6: Does the article sound like a piece of journalism? If not what bits don’t

sound right?

Majority of people said it was well written as it kept the readers interest to the end. This is a key aspect of the magazine which needs to impress the readers as it will keep them hooked till the next page. Answer from

questionnaire:“I think is sounds very good because it is chatty and not question with answers which I find very boring. The best phrase from the article is “ Primark to Prada” that was well used”

Question 7: Does the articles layout make you want to read it? If not

why not? All the replies for this question were a yes which I was delighted about. This a an excellent response from my target audience. My target audience is young and ambitious but simple at the same time. The responses were saying that the image taking one side of the page of the double page article was very well produced as it was an attractive image.

Answer to questionnaire:“ The layout was nice and neat with everything in its order. It was simple and elegant which I loved”
