Colours often used by Javier Mariscal
Possible fonts derived from Mariscal’s work
Samples and experiments of Javier Mariscal’s work. I found it quite difficult to create a font from Javier’s work, as he incorprates quite a lot of typography within his art. I decided to do a carbon copy of his fonts, and create a ‘template’ for development.

When designing the font I tried creating the type from the left, like the numbers, however it didn’t work. For example, the letter ‘E’ wouldn’t be noticable or legible. It would be the same for any other letter that had a vertical line at the left. Trial and error allowed me to develop the font shown right.

Colours often used by Ben Vautier
Samples of Ben Vautier’s work, like Javier Mariscal, Ben Vautier uses a lot of typogra-phy within his work. Experiments show how font would look using different media. For example, ‘no place like home’ was creates by candle wax and paint, ‘Blue is just a word’ was created using liquid latex, the right sample peeled off

Colours often used by Tauba Auerbach
Possible font derived by Auerbach’s work
Tauba auerbach is a very interesting designer, with extremely creative designs. She uses of typography in her work to express opinions. I was drawn to the ‘counters’ the insides of letters, I decided to create a font based on the counters, shown below.
