ObjectivesObjectives ASM (Artisanal and small scale mining), a growing concern in many developing

countries around the globe. ASM is poverty driven fostering conflict, anarchy, health, safety and

environmental hazards and also creating economic issues. World Bank initiative, CASM (Communities and Small scale Mining) is

striving to mitigate ASM’s negative impacts. CASM’s endevour has been to transcend ASM from threat to

opportunity, mainly in terms of: poverty alleviation Sustainable livelihood Environmental protection

Thus AMIS (Artisanal Mining Information System), an IT enabled decision support tool, has been developed to facilitate CASM for monitoring and evaluating these issues.

Details include User Name, User Password, User Type and Country Name.

Super User/ Administrator will have the following functionalities. Add Mineralization Type

Super user / Administrator is able to add, edit, view and delete different types of Mineralization.

Details include Mineralization ID and Mineralization Name.


Add Issues Super user / Administrator is able to add, edit,

view and delete different types of issues. Details include Issue ID and Issue Name.


Reports Enables user to view the types of reports. Supports four type of reports: national level,

scientific information, social issues and economic issues.


User Type Enables user to view the types of user levels. Supports only four types of users namely

Authorized (including Super User, Administrator, Country Master and Authorized Users).


Add Category Enables Super user / Administrator to add, view,

edit and delete the types of category. Details include Category ID and Category Name.
