Please ensure you send your children to school in appropriate clothing for the cold – including pants, school jumpers and jackets! This cold weather seems to have had a healthy impact on the playground – we have had a largely peaceful and happy playground of late. I believe the message our values promote; Respect, Responsibility and Care and Co-operation – are encouraging students to sort out minor playground disputes in a sensible way. Congratulations to all our students for making a fine effort this week. School Activities Over the past few weeks we have had a number of casual teachers employed within our school for a variety of reasons including staff planning days, professional learn- ing, sporting activities as well as staff illness. Dear families,

I hope that everyone is rugged up against the cold this week. Please ensure you send your children to school in appropriate clothing for the cold – including pants, school jumpers and jackets! I believe the message our values promote; Respect, Responsibility and Care and Co-operation – are encouraging students to sort out minor playground disputes in a sensible way. Congratulations to all our students for making a fine effort this week.

is that our school is a very dynamic environment where each day changes may occur. We try our very best to keep any changes to a minimum and where possible fully inform everyone in advance.

Student AttendanceStaff, supported by our Attendance Team, work hard to support students and their families who at times struggle with attendance. Please remember getting to school on time is also important – the day starts at 9.15am with a morning assembly. The day finishes at 3.00pm for those that live close and 3.10pm for those on the bus. There has been an increase in the number of families wanting to pick up their chil-dren before 3.00pm. This is extremely disruptive to the afternoon learning session and should only happen if there is an urgent appointment that your child may need to attend. I would ask for your cooperation in supporting your child’s learning.

Have a great week.

Mortimer ShieldA great day was had by all students who attended the Mortimer Shield at the Equex Centre on Tuesday. The day started off quite wet and chilly but we all gave a mighty effort to play our rounds with pride and determina-tion. There were many tries scored by both the boys and girls teams and it was fantastic to see everybody demonstrate sportsmanship to each other. Congratulations to Malakai C, Elissa F and Ella W who received an award for Player of the Day. Thank you to the parents who came to support and a special thanks to Josh for putting on a coach’s hat for the day.

Bimbi News

At Bimbi we have been practicing all our Nursery Rhymes. We sing the Nursery Rhymes together, practice sequencing them, perform with puppets, dress up and draw or write about them. We were so excited when we found out a story about one of our favourite Nursery Rhymes was going to be performed at the Civic Theatre - "Yo Diddle Diddle" (a rap version of Hey Diddle Diddle).

We had a very interesting ride on the bus to the theatre and a wonderful time at the show. The children were so excited and engaged, singing along and watching so intently. When we came back to preschool we made up our own rap version of Hey Diddle Diddle using our drums and percussion instruments.
