A special thank you to our wonderful advisor, Connie Semonite, for hosting the Newcomers Welcome at

her beautiful home and to the AOSCGWA Board for

the yummy food!

Fall is my favorite season, and I’m

thankful for the cooler weather, the beautiful

foliage, and the chance to spend time with friends. We’ve had a great two months and

October was a particularly busy and fabulous month for our Army Spouses’ Club! We welcomed some of our new members at the beautiful home of our advisor, Connie Semonite. The board provided very tasty treats, and we enjoyed getting to know our new members. Thanks, Connie, for always being an enthusiastic, patient, and gracious advisor. The next day, forty of our members were privileged to take a tour of Air Force Two. We watched a video about the unit in

charge of executive travel; our tour guide, Lt. Col. Rob Aikman, gave us a tour of the plane, and then we had a chance to shop

for unique Vice Presidential and Air Force Two-themed gifts. We hope to plan

another tour in the spring. Our TJ Maxx/Runway Fashion Show

luncheon was amazing, thanks to Paige Kellogg and CJ Summers! Their hard work and planning paid off. We experimented a little with our lunch, and had a buffet. The feedback I received was very positive, and everyone really enjoyed the food. It was great to see a room full of new, as well as,

familiar faces! Big thanks to Tish Anderson for leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance, and Sondra Horst for the heartfelt invocation. We also received great feedback on our vendors! Big thanks to Kim Raymond for her hard work. Amie Hovatter and Lisa Cho did a fabulous job running our Ways and Means table– thank you ladies! As you can tell, luncheons are

a team effort and I am blessed to have a fabulous team to work with, from membership, to reservations, to all the

helpers out front, to all the helpers getting ready for our members inside the

President's Pen ballroom. Thank you all! TJ Maxx gave us great swag bags and put on a great show. We are very grateful for their time and efforts. AUSA gave us some goodies to add to the bags, and we appreciate their support as well. We’ve had two great months of opportunity ticket sales. I’d like to thank you for purchasing tickets and supporting our club as we work to generate funds for scholarships and grants to military connected organizations. The more tickets you buy, the better the chance you have to

win; buy as many tickets as you want, and win as often as your ticket numbers are

called. There is no limit to the number of times a member can win. Thanks to TAPS for the beautiful bracelets for our swag bags, and thanks to our members for purchasing the special TAPS Afghan Hope Bracelets. Our charitable cause for October was the JBMHH Holiday

Food Program, and thanks to our generous members we were able to donate $980 in Commissary Gift Cards. P.A. Mancini did a wonderful job organizing this effort.

As we enjoy a month that reminds us to be

thankful, don’t forget our charitable cause as we partner with ACS to collect new toys for Christmas. Every donation receives a

free opportunity ticket. I look forward to seeing you all at the November luncheon.

Fondly,

Kelly Kreis AOSCGWA President
