36 Reasons Why Arizona Is The

Best State

Arizona is home to some 6.5 million people. Even though the state often gets a bad rap (as it should)

because of our crazy Governor, Sheriff, and our hot summers, we still have one of the best states in the

country! (debatable)

1. Let’s be honest, we have one of the coolest state flags

(four main colors… really… can’t we pick one or two…

Arizona seems very indecisive)

2. We are the “Grand Canyon State” after all… (I thinkwhat they’re really saying is that they have a big death

trap…. Uh oh)

Which happens to be one of The Seven Natural Wonders of The World, no big deal.

3. Try finding better sunsets. I bet you can’t. (easy:

4. People think we only have deserts… We have them,

and they’re gorgeous. (sure they are pretty… until youget a cactus stuck to you!)

The Sonoran Desert is the only place in the world the Saguaro Cactus grows, one of the most iconic plants.

5. But we’re not just deserts, we’re also 12,000 foot

snow-capped peaks (capped… aka you can’t ski… a

Minnesota girl is going to miss her skiing)

Humphreys Peak stands at 12,637 ft.

6. In fact, you can be tanning in Phoenix… which leads

to cancer which leads to death

At the fabulous Phoenician Resort

7. And skiing in Flagstaff just a few hours later (again,

capped… this is fake)

8. Yes, it snows in Arizona… (no, it doesn’t… not in

phoenix)

thefuntimesguide.com

9. A lot… why are they so adamant about snow? Get

over it. You’re Arizona.

10. Oh yeah, sometimes even in those GORGEOUS

deserts of ours (snow and cacti are like pickles and ice

cream… they just don’t go together… good try though)

 johnshawphoto.com

11. But enough about snow. We get sun, lots of it. So

everyone has a pool (but you also get snow so what is

the use… plus this leads to cancer which we already

know leads to death—why would you ever put yourselfin such a situation)

12. So we pretty much have pool parties year round.

With a lot of alcohol. (we have alcohol… lots of it). We

can have pool parties… the YMCA is open year round.

azcentral.com

13. And countless world-renowned golf courses (we

have indoor put put)

14. Feel like drinking more? Float down the Salt

River… yep, we float down rivers here as well

15. Or head to the lake for some boating and to work on

your tan. We have man-made lakes… what more could

you want! Plus our lakes are small so you won’t get

lost. How inconsiderate that they put your safety in

jeopardy—getting lost is a big deal.

(wtf is a haboob and why?... looks scary)

17. Which is okay… Because you know what’s coming.

A monsoon! (and why is this good again?)

experiencescottsdale.com

18. If the monsoons haven’t cooled you enough, head up

to the White Mountains where it can be 40 degreescooler (you might as well be in Nebraska)

19. Or to Havasupai falls. Yes, that’s its natural color.

Take note, New Jersey. (something is growing on those

rocks… did you learn ID well enough to self-diagnose?

If not, I’d stay far, far away!)

20. Or explore the winding waters of Glen Canyon(again… why would they put you at risk of getting lost?)

21. Adrenaline junky? How about white water rafting

down the mighty Colorado River (You should really be

doing that in Colorado… which is easily accessible from

Nebraska)

22. Check out ancient Native American cliff dwellings.

History? Suck it, East Coast. (we have Native

Americans here in Nebraska… I can introduce you to

one if you’d like!)

23. We have a forest made of stone… No, really! We

have a forest… made of trees… which is what forests

are supposed to be made out of… gosh this state isweird

o.aolcdn.com

The Petrified Forest National Park is filled with fossilized trees dating back 225 million years.

24. Check out this giant crater… (again, very very

dangerous… I care about you… I don’t want you to fall

into a giant crater and die… just think about George…)

Meteor Crater was created over 50,000 years ago. It is also noted as being the best preserved crater on the

planet.

25. Oh look, one of the Man-Made Wonders of theWorld, the Hoover Dam. More like Hoover DAMN!

(Damn… try looking at a cowboy ;) )

Yes it’s also shared with our ugly sister Nevada. (why have an ugly neighbor when you don’t have to)

26. But don’t forget our great cities, Phoenix being the

5th largest in the nation. (big, scary… too many people

and too many roads to get lost on.)

27. Which is efficient and extremely clean for a major

city (this looks like an accident WAITING to happen!)

28. And everyone knows Tempe… (we have buildings

near water and light up at night.)

hazsunsets.com

29. Because it’s home to Arizona State, the #1 party

school! (and they’re 19… unfortunately, we’re old intheir minds)

festivities)

Often described as one of the top nightlife scenes in the country

32. A hundred miles south you have Tucson. Home to

UofA (UofA isn’t even a word… clearly the education

system needs a bit of work!)

upload.wikimedia.org

33. A few hundred miles north you have Flagstaff home

to NAU (which is?? Clearly it is not important)

Flagstaff sits at nearly 7,000 ft in elevation in the middle of the longest continuous Ponderosa Pine forest

on the continent.

34. Just south of Flagstaff you have Sedona… Getting it

yet? It’s called “diversity”. (we have diversity… there

are lots of Hawaiians at Creighton)

cntraveler.com

Sedona is known for its natural beauty. It was once dubbed “Arizona’s little Hollywood” as many Westerns

were shot on location here.

35. We share an international border with Mexico and

the beach is only a few hours south of that… (mexico =

drug dealers… Creighton will kick you out if you are

caught with drugs… I’d avoid the entire situation at allcosts!)

media.point2.com

Puerto Penasco is nicknamed “Arizona’s Beach”

36. Don’t forget Sin City is also in our backyard, which

means we get to enjoy it on a whim. ($200 round trip

cost from Kansas city which is easily accessible from

Omaha… you can get there easily from Nebraska)

37. Making Arizona a pretty cool place to live (with all

of your newly found wisdom… you should probably

reconsider!)

Compared to all the other states out there that are expensive, crowded, boring, cold, or flat…Arizona isn’t

so bad. So for all you Arizonians out there, cherish what you call home. After all, some people have to live

in states like Oklahoma
