Kent Somers, Arizona Republic: The Cardinals certainly didn't overpay for Feely. The two-year deal he signed is worth $3.5 million. He will make a $500,000 roster bonus this year in addition to a $1 million base salary. In 2011, the base salary is $1.75 million and he could receive a $250,000 workout bonus.

Brian McIntyre, MacsFootballBlog.com: Feely had up to $750,000 in available escalation [in 2011].

Kent Somers, Arizona Republic: Feely also had $500k sb.

Josh Weinfuss, ESPN: His one-year deal is worth $1.02 million, more than $500,000 less than he made with Arizona in 2013… Feely’s base salary is $955,000 and he’ll receive a $65,000 roster bonus.

Liz Mullen, Sports Business Journal: Fitzgerald gets a $7.5 million signing bonus and a $5.037 million option bonus, which gets paid next year if the Cardinals pick up the option on the deal. Fitzgerald also has $6.8 million in guaranteed salary. But that $6.8 million guarantee backs up the $5.037 million option bonus, and the guarantee on the $6.8 million goes away once the option is exercised in 2005, said sources with knowledge of the contract. Fitzgerald also gets an additional $2.7 million if he plays a minimum of 35 percent of offensive plays in the first year, or 45 percent in any other year, and if the team or Fitzgerald hit any one of 12 minimum performance targets. That bonus is available in every year of his contract, and agents agree that Fitzgerald will probably earn it in his first year.

Mike Florio, PFT: Beyond more than $15 million in bonus money, Fitzgerald can earn a string of escalators beginning in 2006 based on the so-called "minimum playing time" trigger, which generally refers to participation in 35 percent of the snaps for his side of the ball.

Specifically, achievement of minimum playing time by Fitzgerald puts him in line for a $2.75

million escalator in 2006, $2.75 million in 2007, $3.5 million in 2008, and a whopping $11 million in 2009. That's a total potential haul of $20 million based solely being on the field for slightly more than one out of every three offensive snaps.

He can get another $5 million in 2007 if he has 270 catches in his first three years (that's an average of 90 per year). He also can get $10 million more for making one Pro Bowl ($5 million in 2008 and $5 million in 2009) along with another $5 million in 2008 if he makes it two two Pro Bowls in his first four years, or if he's in the top five in receptions for two of his first four years.

Kent Somers, Arizona Republic: Fitzgerald agreed to the restructuring last week. His [2009] base salary decreased from $4.6 million to $1.6 million, but Fitzgerald receives the difference in roster bonus. In addition, about $150,000 that was payable in 2010 was moved to this year. That increased Fitzgerald's current cap number from $10.75 million to $10.90 million. His cap figure in 2010 decreases by $150,000. A no-trade clause also was dropped from the deal, and the contract, due to expire after 2011, was not extended.

Mike Florio, PFT: the eight-year, $120 million contract apparently isn’t infected with any smoke and/or mirrors. Per a source with knowledge of the numbers, Fitzgerald will make $20 million in 2011. Starting with a $15 million option bonus due on the first day of the 2012 league year, his two-year take will be $40.25 million, thanks to a base salary of $5 million and a $250,000 workout bonus. In 2013, he’ll earn a mere $5.25 million. The numbers kick up again in 2014, with $13 million more coming to Fitzgerald. In 2015, he’ll make $16.25 million. In 2016, the earnings will be $15.25 million. In each of the last two years, when he’ll be 34 and 35, respectively, Fitzgerald will make $15 Million.

That said, there are a couple of caveats (apart from the fact that the Cardinals can walk away from the non-guaranteed salaries in the out years). First, while the guarantee has been reported as $50 million, the real number is only (only?) $45 million. Of that amount, $20 million is fully guaranteed (injury, skill, cap), and the other $25 million is guaranteed for injury only. Also, the deal contains up to $8 million in de-escalators tied to Fitzgerald’s receptions in 2016 and 2017. If he’s under 80 in either season, some of the money rolls back to the Cardinals in 2017 and 2018, respectively. The highest amounts go away if he’s under 70.

Albert Breer, NFL.com: The $11.75M of his $12.75M base that was converted is now a fully guaranteed 2014 roster bonus.

Joel Corry, NFP: Fitzgerald's new deal is a $10M 2nd day of '15 league year roster bonus w/$1M & $11M '15 & '16 base salaries. The deal is fully GTD… Fitzgerald's deal has '17 & '18 years at $16M each. These years void 5 days after the '16 league year Super Bowl… Fitzgerald'd $10M 2nd day of '15 league year roster bonus is treated as signing bonus & prorated since it's fully GTD at signing… Fitzgerald's new deal contains a no trade clause.

Rotoworld: Agreed to terms on a six-year contract worth up to $50.8 million. The deal includes $14 million guaranteed and calls for per-year salaries of roughly $6.75 million. Leinart's final year contains escalators based on reasonable play-time incentives.

Jason Cole, Yahoo Sports: By the end, Condon got a deal that could pay Leinart $40.36 million over six years, more than any player except the top three players selected. He got all of that without Leinart having to perform at a Superman level.

Leinart can make $15 million more by simply playing a minimum amount of time in any of his first four seasons (that's either 35 percent of the offensive downs as a rookie or 45 percent in years 2, 3 or 4).

But the real key to the deal is an escalator for the fifth year and another in the sixth. The first escalator raises Leinart's base pay by $8.5 million in 2010 if he either plays 55 percent of the offensive snaps in two of the first four seasons or 70 percent in any one season (the Cardinals must also reach a team qualifier – which states an area of statistical improvement – under those two scenarios, but that's not considered difficult). The second escalator raises Leinart's deal by $11 million in 2011 if he plays a minimum amount of the plays and the team reaches a qualifier.

Albert Breer, NFL.com: Mathieu's deal includes a $265,000 signing bonus. Additional $397,500 paid in roster bonuses is guar, unless he's cut b/c of drugs… the total of the Mathieu deal is $3.052 million over four years. To compare, the guy in his slot last year, TJ Graham, got $2.9M over 4… The $397,500 in roster bonuses for Tyrann Mathieu are split up like this: $99K in 2014; $102K in '15; $154K in '16… if he's suspended, he forfeits bonus $ that year… Mathieu's conditional guarantees come in '14 and '15 roster bonuses, plus $196K of his '14 salary. Mike Florio, PFT: Mathieu receives only $265,000 up front. The rest of what would have been the signing bonus has been shifted to roster bonuses paid only if Mathieu is on the team’s 53-man roster, injured reserve, or PUP list for all 16 games in 2013 ($99,375), in 2014 ($102,031), and 2015 ($154,687). In 2016, Mathieu receives $101,407 if he’s on the team’s 90-man offseason roster on the fifth day of the league year.

Brian McIntyre, Yahoo Sports: Mathieu signed his first NFL contract, which is worth $3,052,500 and includes $817,187 in guaranteed money if the off-field troubles that plagued him at LSU do not resurface over the next four seasons.

Paul Needell, NY Daily News: The Jets completed a blockbuster trade last night, sending unsigned Pro Bowl wide receiver Rob Moore to the Cardinals for Arizona's firstand fourth-round picks in today's NFL draft, plus RB Ronald Moore. The Cardinals' pick is 16th in Round 1 and eighth in Round 4… Moore's agent, Gary Wichard, and the Cardinals pounded out an $11.2-million, four-year contract agreement to finalize the deal. It consists of a $3-million signing bonus and salaries of $1.65 million, $2.25 million, $2.1 million and $2.2 million.

That's a whopping $4.65 million in '95. The Jets' best multi-year offer to Moore, slated for $2.495 million as the team's "franchise player," was worth about $2 million a year. His new average of $2.8 million makes Moore the NFL's third highest paid receiver, behind Andre Rison ($3.4 million) and Michael Irvin ($2.9 million). Jerry Rice makes an average of $2.68 million.

Larry Weisman, USA Today: When Rob Moore signed his deal Tuesday, his cap number (prorated signing bonus and base salary) went from $ 3.54 million to $ 4.25 million. Moore signed a four-year deal for $ 17.5 million, with a $ 5 million signing bonus. First-year base pay: $ 3 million. Year one income: $ 8 million.

Patrick Finley, Arizona Daily Star: Warner signed a one-year, $4 million deal.

Mike Tulumello, East Valley Tribune: Warner's agent would like the Cardinals to award a $500,000 bonus that Warner just missed statistically in the 2007 season. Warner's contract called for him to get a series of $500,000 bonuses, up to $1.5 million. He had four categories to reach, and he was successful on two of them, for $1 million. Warner came just short of the other two categories: finishing in the NFL's top 10 in passing yards and finishing with a passer rating of 90.0. He finished with a passer rating of 89.9. Cardinals general manager Rod Graves said he does not want to set a precedent by awarding Warner the $500,000.

Mike Florio, PFT: Per Adam Schefter of NFL Network, Warner will make $500,000 for each of the following factors he achieves, if he participates in at least 70 percent of the offensive snaps: (1) passer rating over 90; (2) top ten in passing yards; (3) top ten in touchdown passes; (4) top ten

in yards per pass; and (5) ten wins. He’s limited to cashing in on only three of those five factors. So, basically, he’s going to make an extra $1.5 million.

Warner also can earn additional money based on team performance. For making the wild-card round, he gets $500,000. If they get to the next round, the number goes to $1 million. The next level (conference championship) results in $1.5 million. A Super Bowl appearance pushes the number to $2 million; winning it translates to a total of $3 million.

But there’s a catch — his maximum incentives are limited to $4 million.

Kent Somers, Arizona Republic: Warner will receive a $15 million signing bonus and a $4 million base salary in 2009, making his practical guarantee $19 million. (Sirius NFL Radio also reports that Warner’s guarantee is $19 million.) The salary for 2010 is only (only?) $4 million.

Andrew Brandt, NFP: $7.5M of that $15M bonus is scheduled to be paid out in equal installments throughout the 2010 season. And the language of the contract allows for the Cardinals to not make those installments if Warner is not on the roster in 2010, meaning he will not receive those weekly installments of that $7.5M.

Kent Somers, Arizona Republic: Signing bonus: $1.675 million Salary: $320,000 2011 Salary: $405,000 (guaranteed for skill, injury and salary cap, which means Cardinals will pay if they cut him). 2012 Salary: $490,000 ($100,000 guaranteed) 2013 Salary: $575,000 (no guarantees).

Brian McIntyre, NFL.com: the 2010 second-round pick will earn $540,000 in base salary and a $25,000 workout bonus and counts $983,750 against the team's cap this season.

Kent Somers, Arizona Republic: Washington's contract includes $32m in new money…

Kent Somers, Arizona Republic: He received a signing bonus of $2.5 million and is due an option bonus of $10 million next year. He had two years left under his old deal. This year, his salary increases from $490,000 to $2.5 million. In 2013, it increases from $575,000 to $2.4 million. Here are his yearly salaries: 2012 -- $2.5 million 2013 -- $2.4 million 2014 -- $2.9 million 2015 -- $3.4 million 2016 -- $4.4 million 2017 -- $4.4 million…

Brian McIntyre, Yahoo! Sports: Washington had two years remaining on his rookie contract and signed a four-year extension (2014-17) that included $32 million in "new money," bringing his compensation over the next six seasons to just under $33.2 million… over the next three seasons (2012-14), Washington will earn $20.5 million, including $19.33 million in "new" money… Washington's guarantee is limited to his $2.5 million signing bonus and $2.5 million base salary for the 2012 season, $540,000 of which is from his base salary on his rookie contract. Not even Washington's $2.4 million base salary in 2013 is guaranteed. However, Washington is due a $10 million option bonus at some point during the 2013 season. While that option bonus is likely to be paid, it's not guaranteed and there is no non-exercise fee attached to it, which gives the Cardinals a rather significant "out" if Washington fails to continue to his development into a Pro Bowl-caliber player or is injured this season.

Mike Florio, PFT: it appeared that the decision to delay Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington’s $10 million option bonus from 2013 to 2014 came from his anticipated four-game suspension for violating the substance-abuse policy… the $10 million option bonus initially was due to be exercised by the last day of the 2013 league year. Under a new deal executed on March 12, it’s due on the first day of the 2014 league year. So the delay was, in the end, one day.The one-day delay nevertheless created $2 million in 2013 cap space for the Cardinals.

Mike Florio, PFT: A league source tells us that the contract signed by running back Beanie Wells carries a base value of only $9 million over five years. That's an average investment of $1.8 million per year for a guy who could become just what the Cardinals have needed at the tailback position. The deal has a maximum package of $11.8 million, and guaranteed money (after the option bonus is exercised) of $6.345 million. The signing bonus will be $2 million.

Brian McIntyre, Scout.com: Wells received a $2M signing bonus, and currently has base salaries of $790,000 (2009), $987,500 (2010), $1.185M (2011), $707,500 (2012), and $1.3375M (2013). Wells’ base salaries from 2009-12 are 100% guaranteed against skill/injury/cap. A $2.25M option/buyout is due next year… After that option is exercised, his entire 2010 and 2011 base salaries, along with $257,500 of his 2012 base salary, will be fully guaranteed. These guarantees void if Wells earns a $1.305M NLTBE (“not likely to be earned”) roster bonus in 2010-13 or 2013 NTLBE, which can be earned with minimum playing-time and a team qualifier, or any RB/WR NLTBE category, or leads the team in offensive playing time, or is named the NFL or NFC’s Rookie of the Year, or is named NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year. Wells also has a $100,000 NFL Rookie of the Year NLTBE in 2009.

Wells also has $50,000 workout bonuses in 2010 and 2011, which can be earned with minimum playing-time and a team qualifier. If he doesn’t earn the $50,000 workout bonus in 2010, he can earn a $100,000 workout bonus in 2011 with the minimum playing-time and team qualifier. Once his option bonus is exercised, Wells will receive $50,000 workout bonuses in 2012 and 2013 that are not tied to any qualifier.

Wells’ 2013 base salary can increase by a maximum of $2.7 million dollars. To maximize the 2013 base salary escalation, Wells would need to rush for 1,000 yards and make the Pro Bowl each year.

Brian McIntyre, Yahoo Sports: Wells was entering the fifth and final season of his $9.6 million rookie contract and was scheduled to earn $1,407,500 in base salary with a $50,000 workout bonus this season. Releasing Wells saves $1.4575 million in cap space this season for the Cardinals…

Mike Florio, PFT: Mike Jurecki of XTRA Sports 910 in Phoenix has the details on the new contract given by the Cardinals to safety Adrian Wilson. It’s a five-year, $37 million deal, with $18.5 million guaranteed. Also, Wilson will earn $22.5 million over the first three years, plus incentives.

Len Pasquarell, ESPNi: The deal is worth $39 million, with $18.5 million guaranteed.

Mike Sando: Wilson's new deal carries an $8.5 million base salary. Bonuses from his old deal and the new extension, plus incentives in the new deal, eat up additional cap space in 2009. The total hit is roughly $10[.2] million. Wilson's old deal would have counted about $5.5 million in 2009.

Kent Somers: Here's are the specifics of safety Adrian Wilson's new contract, according to someone familiar with it. Bonuses -- $1 million signing bonus. $3 million roster bonus in 2011 (not guaranteed). $250,000 workout bonuses in 2010 through 2013; 2009 -- $8.5 million salary, guaranteed for injury, performance and cap. That's $36.5 million. The deal has been reported to be worth a maximum of $39 million. I don't have the details of the remaining $2.5 million but I assume that's in the form of bonuses and escalators.

Kent Somers, Arizona Republic: Cardinals strong safety Adrian Wilson has agreed to restructure his contract, giving the team an additional $2.4 million of salary cap space, NFL sources confirmed. The team converted $3 million of Wilson’s salary this year into a bonus, which can be pro-rated over the five-year term of the contract.
