Dear Readers,
We have successfully completed our Hybrid
car RZX5H. We also had a launch held in our
college for the same. At the same time the
welding of the RZX5C has completed and is
undergoing its assembly phase. We expect it

We had a launch for the Hybrid Prototype in our college premises. We had our partners and our faculty mem-
bers attending the launch.

We had Mr. ,Dilbaugh Gill Team Principal Team
Mahindra Racing, Formula Electric Boston visiting
our workshop and sharing his ideas and scope of im-
provement in our hybrid prototype.
The Chief Srutineers for Formula Hybrid U.S.A.,
Mr. and Mrs. Michael Royce visited our workshop
and said that they were “quite impressed” with our
car.

The chassis welding has been completed. We would like to thank the Foreman of Industrial Engineering and
Management Department of our college, Mr. Shekar for providing us with the TIG Welding machine because
of which we could do our welding in house. Also we would like to thank Siddhivinayaka Enterprises for
providing us with their skilled welders who have got us a very neat and uniform weld throughout!!

KIRIT ROSARIO
Kirit Rosario was the lead designer of the „05 Ashwa racecar. With a strong intuition
for mechanical systems and years of fabrication experience, he brought a heavy focus
on common sense design and pushed to fabricate a majority of the vehicle in-house.
Kirit went on to design special effect robots in Bangalore before pursuing his MS at
Michigan State. For 5 years after, he worked at Caterpillar‟s Technical Center in Illinois
doing product development on large diesel engines and mining equipment. In 2012 af-
ter receiving his MBA from Chicago Booth, he started his career as a Management
Consultant at A.T. Kearney.
Kirit is an avid designer, inventor and craftsman, with a full-fledged workshop at home
for metal, wood and leather. He is currently working on a robotic horse for his daughter
to ride, which will balance and walk independently. Below is some of his handiwork,
that he does in his free time

VARUN GANDHI
Varun Gandhi holds a Master degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of
Texas A&M
Varun works for Mathworks as a UI Platform Engineer .
Varun was one of the unsung heroes of the founding team of Ashwa Racing
2003-2005.
He contribution of work showed great signs of hardwork and determination and led
the team as the Chief Engineer in the debut event for Ashwa Racing participa-
tion in 2005 edition of Formula Student .
Varun was also responsible in partnering Sun Microsystem an IT firm to support
Ashwa Racing Student Racing team which today has inspired to form an in
house IT team which is an essential part or race car development .
Varun along with the team had strategically laid the foundation stone for Ashwa Racing which has stood strong till date and days to come .
He was responsible for creating many foundation process in each sub system which
is still followed with evolutionary improvements in the team operations
Certainly he has been a key contributor in Ashwa Racing sustainability .

AKSHAY SANGOLLI
Akshay Sangolli ,an ace Architect with a Master‟s Degree gradutation in Health Care De-
sign from University of Texas A&M
Akshay has also been awarded fellowship from Tradewell Fellowship Program in the year
2012
Akshay joined Ashwa Racing in 2005 as a trainee .Akshay Sangolli was the Project
Manager for the 2006 and 2007 Ashwa Racing „s participation in Formula Student –
Australia and Germany respectively
He contributed to the field of Ergonomics in the design phase of the vehicle deriving data
from Anthropology .
His contribution did not stop there .
Akshay Sangolli is credited with the idea of founding the Hybrid Division of Ashwa Racing in the year 2006 and it took many years to make his dream come into reality.
His vision and contribution to the team enabled him to foster partnership with many Or-
ganization ,one such being Ansys Inc whose strategic entry in the list of partners of Ashwa Racing changed facet of the team and its technical abilities in to the next level .

MAYUR GOWDA
Mayur Gowda works for Bhaghvati Tools Inc and is Graduate with Master‟s Degree in
Manufacturing System Engineering from University of Warwick
Mayur Gowda was the Head of Logistics in the year 2010 ,Ashwa Racing‟s partic-
ipation in Formula Student Italy .
His relentless efforts showed signs of improved logistics co-ordination for the team
and also worked on the Brakes Module .
Mayur was also one of the Driver for 2010 Formula Student Italy .
Mayur currently helps the team by supporting in manufacturing and also recommend-
ing the team to other manufacturers to do the job fee of cost thus reducing the financial
burden of the team .
This time, we have been able to do in-house welding of the chassis because of the
skilled welders from Siddhivinayaka Enterprises. We also weld our A– Arms, one of
the most important component in the car. Mayur has helped us reduce the manufactur-
ing cost by a huge amount. We will always be grateful for this help and would like to
continue this relationship in the future.

SHARATH PRABHAKAR
Sharath was last working as a QC engineer at FMC Technology and currently doing
his Master‟s program in the U.S
Sharath was the head of Chassis module in the year 2010 and later lead the 2011 team
of Ashwa Racing in the capacity of Chief Engineer. Sharath participated consecu-
tively in 2010 and 2011 edition of Formula Student Italy
A really cool headed ,Chief Engineer who is known to have an amazing sense of humor
and can de-stress the team with his sense of humor attitude
His contribution in the field of Chassis has taken the Chassis development to the next
level and is credited with using the Chromoly Material
Sharath „s involvement with the 2011 team was a very crucial and much needed for the
team to be directed toward participating the endurance race and complete all dynamic
events .
