AQUARIAN DRUMHEADS 2

With Aquarian's Sound Curve™ collar design, the bearing edge finds its own spot in the curve. No wrinkles even with loose tuning. Aquarian drumheads tune fast and easy... every time! Due to constant vibration, conventional drumheads all have some degree

of slippage inside the hoop, which results in de-tuning and lack of resonance and response.

TRIPLE LOCKING SYSTEM™Aquarian's unique Triple Locking System™ provides previously unheard-of advantages in resonance & playability.

1. Holes are punched in the bottom of a U-shaped channel which has been formed in thew drumhead. These holes allow the resin to flow into the Safe-T-Loc™ channel.

2. The T-Ribs that form the Safe-T-Loc™ channel prevent the resin and the drumhead from slipping and pulling away from the hoop.

3. The Locking Shoulder acts as a stop to ensure the correct collar height for the drumhead.

AQUARIAN... THE ONLY DRUMHEAD ON THE MARKET WITH ORIGINAL TONAL QUALITIES. USE THE TAP TEST™ TO TEST A DRUMHEAD.The Tap Test™ confirms that the collar height is even all around the head. Tuning is fast and easy because you don't have to spend extra time compensating for an uneven head. It also demonstrates that the head is level within the hoop. This also makes tuning easier. The Tap Test™ is the only way to test a drumhead before it goes on the drum. It means that you have a way, at last, to test for tone quality and consistency in drumheads.


THE AQUARIAN STORY

In 1980, Roy Burns and Ron Marquez pooled their considerable experience to start AQUARIAN.

In the 1970s, Roy Burns was touring the world as the first full time Artist-Clinician in the music industry. His background as a famous drummer, teacher, author and studio musician made him an ideal teacher/performer. The Roy Burns Clinic toured in the U.S. and many foreign countries, setting the standards for today’s drum clinicians. Thousands of drummers read his famous Concepts column in Modern Drummer Magazine, which ran an unprecedented 12 years.

Roy's 'Elementary Drum Method' and 'One Surface Learning' are considered classics. Along with his heavy clinic schedule, Roy found time to be the house drummer for the Monterey Jazz Festival for nine years, backing some of the greatest names in jazz and blues.

The other half of AQUARIAN, Ron Marquez, helped to pioneer electro-static powder coating in the U.S. during a time when most protective metal finishes were solvent based, performing work for giant companies like Fender and Rogers Drums. Later on he expanded his electro-static coating business into manufacturing motocross and bicycle accessories. He became one of the biggest suppliers of handle bars in unique colors to several major bicycle manufacturers in the U.S.

With Roy’s experience in drumming and Ron’s high-tech background in manufacturing, AQUARIAN introduced a

number of innovative and patented products plus a unique scientific approach to manufacturing. The first product was the Cymbal Spring, followed by the X-10 Graphite Drumsticks. Ultimately, AQUARIAN DRUMHEADS were born and the rest, as they say, is history.

They pioneered industry firsts such as the Safe-T-Loc™ patented hoop, the Sound Curve™ collar design, the Hi-Energy™ snare drumhead and the Tap Test™.

The drumming community was wowed with the introduction of the Super-Kick™ bass drumheads which have been described as “often imitated but never equaled. Nothing sounds like a Super-Kick™!"

Roy’s experience in music and drumming combined with Ron’s extensive engineering and manufacturing background built this innovative company dedicated to helping drummers play music.

The Classic Clear™ series are single ply, medium weight drum-heads that may be used on the top or bottom of a tom tom. They produce a wide open full sound with plenty of attack and warm choke-free response when used as a bottom tom head.

Classic Clear™ in Video Colours (Black /White)Reccommended for bottom heads. Special paint on the back of the head creates solid colour instead of a dyed film, which is often brittle due to extra heat used in the film manufacturing process.

BASS DRUM HEADS

Accessories1. Cymbal Springs™These patented cymbal holders mount on any cymbal stand. The free movement of the Cymbal Spring™ helps to absorb impact to protect the edge and center hole of the cymbal. The medium red spring is recommended for crash cymbals 16” and larger. The yellow heavy spring is recommended for China cymbals and Ride cymbals 18" and larger.

2. Kick Pads™These patented impact pads are made from a heavier version of Aquarian’s Power Dot™ material. Each pad is strong yet flexible so that it can move with the head. They help extend the life of the bass drumhead while helping to produce a punchy, focused sound. They are available in a single pedal or double pedal version.

3. Super-Thin Kick Pads™All New Super-Thin Kick Pads™ provide durability while giving a more natural feel between the beater and the bass drumhead.

4. Port-Holes™ An adhesive backed hole cutting template for front bass drumheads. Available in black or white with a 5" hole.

5. Studio Rings™ SeriesThe one-inch width of each muffling ring achieves that great studio sound without choking the drum.

Accessories6. Tru-Bounce™ Practice PadAn active playing surface of specially selected neoprene for a true and accurate response. Comfortable to play on without the "overly-springy" feel of traditional gum rubber. Even at the softest volumes, each stick note is articulated and can be heard. The result is a more accurate rebound that helps to develop control, strength and speed. It makes you work a little harder but not too hard.

7. Quik-Bounce™Practice PadThe Quik-Bounce™ Pad is a smaller (6" diameter), more portable version of the highly successful Tru-Bounce™ practice pad. The smaller size makes the Quik-Bounce™ pad easy to carry in a back pack or travel bag. It is perfect for taking to a drum lesson, gig or on the road. It mounts easily on a cymbal stand with an 8mm thread.

These benefits include greater durability, no warping, consistent weight and superior feel. The Lites™ are a moderately priced version of the X-10’s offering many of the same features. Both versions are available with Aquarian’s red Shock-Grips, which protect the drummers hands against vibration and fatigue.
