Presentation and Discussion of Agenda

1. Summer Enrolment

a.) Mike Leyson asked the Samahan Central Board (SCB) on what are the following activities

that the SCB can have to help the students and the divisions as well, as the summer

enrolment commences.

b.) The following are some of the activities that the group came up:

I.) Ash Castillo, Accountancy’s OIC, suggested to tap the division representatives in coming

up with summer enrolment plans since each division has its own nature in terms of

summer enrolment procedures.

II.) Mike suggested to continue the free printing of enrolment documents for the students

which was also practiced from the previous administration

III.) Mike has also informed the body that the Samahan Communications will spearhead the

consolidation of frequently asked questions from the students during enrolment, and

Allexy added that we can also tap the division representatives for the gathering of

information needed (e.g.: How annual grades are computed) from their own divisions.

The deadline of the following will be on April 9, 2014.

2. Dinner with Fr. Joel Tabora, SJ

a.) Mike discussed the previous plan of the SCB with regards to this matter. It was first

suggested that the dinner with the School President will be on the 3rd week of May;

however, Fr. Tabora, through Ms. Theresa Salaver-Eliab, OSA director, requested if we can

have the dinner meeting anytime on April 2014.

b.) Since most of the SCB officers are not around during the meeting, the final date was not yet

settled, but the suggested date is on April 25, 2014.

3. Letters

a.) The first letter discussed during the meeting was the letter from National Youth Commission

(NYC). Within the later states that they will be having a 3-day convention from May 15-18,

2014. They are asking the assistance of the SCB in promoting their advocacy which are:

(insert advocacy). The assistance will be through posting their materials on conspicuous

places within the campus.

b.) The body agreed to the proposal of the NYC.

c.) The second letter was from CHED. A CHED Memorandum no. 3 was released which focuses

on the monitoring of the Tuition Fee Increase. It includes the list of the schools who will be

increasing their tuition fees for the next school year, and who are not. The purpose of this

memorandum is to ensure the monitoring of CHED on institutional policies. The CHED is

inviting at least one from the SCB to attend the meeting with them. Mike also asked the

OICs to disseminate this information to their division representatives.

d.) The third letter is from the Philippine Military Academy. They will have a summer military

meeting from April 13-17, 2014. On April 15, they will be in Davao City and will be visiting

some of the schools within the aforementioned city. Since they will also visit our school, the

whole Samahan Central Board is required to attend the meeting on April 15, 2014 at J301

from 8AM-10AM.

e.) The fourth letter was from the SSG. They are inviting us, SCB, to attend their first ever event

which is the Media Literacy Summit on April 12-13, 2014 at J301. The Ateneo de Davao

University will be in-charge of the program flow.

f.) The last letter discussed was the letter for Sui Generis Camp 2014. Mike reminded us that

the deadline for the letter is on April 11, 2014 and the camp will be on April 27-28, 2014.

4. Bombing in Talaingod, Davao City

a.) Last April 1, 2014, Darleen Undag, Education Representative, asked for help for the

indigenous people affected by the military-NPA rebellious clamours in the said place. In line

with this, Mike asked the group of what we can do to help them.

b.) Mike suggested if we can ask assistance from UCEAC to help us in creating a relief operation.

c.) Peej Comoda, CCO President, has also added that before we seek assistance from UCEAC,

we must first know the specific details of the said issue and what are its present updates
