My Dear Readers, Almost all the schools have closed for vacation before starting the new academic year. The children will be in the upbeat to enjoy every minute of their vacation. It is quite an obvious expectation of the kids to go to a hill resort and stay for a week or ten days. You may plan your trip in advance by booking tickets, hotel room and food so that there is no stress or strain to your family and friends who join you for the trip. It will be much more enjoyable if you go as a group of 10-15 people. It could result in saving moneys as well as enjoy the fun of every person accompanying you. More than all these , your kids would enjoy the trip if their friends do go with them for the vacation. Try to google about the places to visit, its importance, the distance from your place of stay and the mode of transport available. This will help you plan your trip and timing to enjoy and spend happily. You need to ensure that there is proper hygiene in the place of stay so that there is no health issues during your vacation. Every vacation or outing is a memorable one for you and your family. So, plan the precious treasurer well in advance and enjoy your time with family and friends.

With Love, I remain

V.JayasreeChief Editor.

Green World starts at home. A roof top garden with organic fruits, vegetables as well as eye catchy rose flowers gives a greenery look to your terrace. Children can get used to planting, watering and plucking the fruits from their own garden and get a first hand feel of Green clean world. We need not have a large piece of land to plant vegetable.

There are leaf, tuber, and fruit – bearing vegetable and ornamental plants which are not delicate to plant and grow even in broken plastic container, milk can, trash bag, and sako for those without a space for a garden. They do not need costly fertilizer nor pesticide, too, to make the soil and plant robust.

What’s more, parents need not be full-pledged farmers, agriculturists, botanists or horticulturists to learn the rudiments of planting. The desire to plant and produce makes them a green thumb and, in real sense, an advocate of green earth.

Among the many tidbits on Prince Charles, the heir apparent to the British throne is that he is a green thumb.

“What for?” maybe the question.

He can simply say the word for Ceasar’s salad or for an elf – type truck full of roses, orchids, and anthuriums to

cover the niche of Princess Diana on her birthday and wedding and death anniversaries. But one of his hobbies is gardening even before these green earth and climate change things have become the loud cries worldwide today.

And talking of planting – or gardening for this matter – it has many benefits if parents realize its importance and take the initiative for their children.

The children should know how the environment today is treated with cruelty. They should be aware that many do not pay attention so much anymore to it. It makes a big difference, however, apart from school when planting is learned by children hands- on from their parents.

In planting, the children are indirectly taught the wonders of science, about the simple plant’s life cycle, and how human intervention can break or make their environment now and until their full age in the days to come.

Children are curious by instinct. In planting, they can have a firsthand experience on the miracle of life through a seed; and this would definitely be a new and enjoyable experience to them.

Waiting for the seed grow into full – blown plant and bear tomato or rose flower, for instance, is just as wondrous as the conception to birth and growth of a baby. In time, they learn to love their plants and appreciate the life in them, the environment, and God.

Planting has a calming effect. This is applicable to all age groups. Planting stimulates all the five senses contrary to playing bloody games on the computer for many hours which is bad for the fertile mind of children.

For parents, planting is a good outlet to forget about stressful work life for a while. They are soothed by the lovely ambience of many different plants.

Likewise with children. at their age, planting stimulates how life can be treated with care and the elements that go with it – the air, sunlight, water, and soil.

There’s quality time in planting. Parents can open talks with their children about assignments and lessons in school, about the news of the day, and about God. It’s like hitting two birds with one stone.
