✤ Expanded Medicaid and Subsidies don’t start until 2014.

✤ CBO expects essentially no change in rising premiums.

✤ 447 billion transfer of public money to the private insurance industry over 10 years.

✤ Primary insecurity of system not removed- employer based insurance.

✤ Cannot control cost with the for profit private insurance model.

✤ Prior state attempts (Tennesee, Maine, Massachusetts, Washington, Vermont) at similar reform (mandates of private insurance) failed due to cost overruns.
