Introduction

This document describe steps how to apply PSU patch on Single node Database.

Environment:-

Operating System: Oracle Linux 6.4

Database: - 11.2.0.4

Software Needed:-

1- Download latest Version Opatch Patch number : 6880880

2- PSU Patch depend on Database version.

Both should be downloaded from http://support.oracle.com

1- If this is not a Oracle RAC environment, shut down all instances and listeners.

a. Lsnrctl stop

b. Shutdown immediate.

2- Check Opatch Version, if the version not the latest please download it.

After download the latest Opatch Version.

3- Dont foget to Check README File in the Patch Directory.

4- Set your current directory to the directory where the patch is located

unzip p19769489_112040_.zip cd 19769489 opatch apply

5- Now Run the Catbundle script that located in Oracle_home directory.

cd $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin

sqlplus / as sysdba

SQL> STARTUP

SQL> @catbundle.sql psu apply

Note: the above step should be done on for each database instance running on the Oracle

home being patched.

6- Finally Run the utlrp to fix invalid Object,
