Explanatory Notes

1. This form may be used for the registration of a pleasure craft with the Singapore Registry. For any subsequent changes in the particulars of the pleasure craft, please notify the Registry Department at [email protected] and attach the supporting documents.

2. For new registrations, change of ownership, re-registrations and re-flagging applications, the original forms must be submitted unless the documents are signed with a secured digital signature.

3. For renewal applications, if there are no changes to craft and owner’s details, applicants may strike off the relevant parts and indicate “no change”. Applicants will only be required to fill in status of applicant, type of application, craft name and applicant’s details and return the soft copy form to Registry Department at [email protected].

4. Applicants are advised to seek prior approval from the Singapore Registry of Ships (SRS) for the name of the pleasure craft to avoid delay in registration in case the proposed name cannot be used.

5. Names which cannot be used are: Name which is prefixed by any letters or a name which might be taken to indicate a type of ship; name which is prefixed with any other word, prefix or suffix which might cause confusion as to the name of the pleasure craft; name which might cause offence or embarrassment; or name which appears to be undesirable for any other reason.

6. Year built as per the Builder’s Certificate or equivalent.7. Gross tonnage as per the gross tonnage of the pleasure craft as specified in its

Singapore Tonnage Certificate or, if none, a Builder’s Certificate.8. Carrying capacity of craft means the maximum number of passengers and crew

members that the pleasure craft may carry.9. Cruising areas as covered by insurance report or insurer’s certificate.10. Latest date from either the initial survey, registry anew survey or renewal survey.11. Authorised by Director of Marine to conduct survey. The list of the accredited

organisations can be found in MPA website.

12. Any person who is the sole, joint or part owner of the pleasure craft; or body corporate that is incorporated under any written law in Singapore; any firm or partnership registered under the Business Names Registration Act 2014 (Act 29 of 2014); any limited partnership registered under the Limited Partnerships Act (Cap. 163B); any society registered under the Societies Act; any unincorporated association that is formed in Singapore. The incorporation document issued by the Accounting Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) must be submitted not earlier than 3 months from date of application for registration.
