LETS RESPOND TO INDIAS CALL A P J ABDUL KALAM1. MEDIAS ARE NEGATIVE

Abdul Kalam talks about the negative attitude of the Indian media. The Indian newspapersare full of stories of disasters, killings and destruction. They dont give importance to theachievements and progress made in different fields. A P J Abdul Kalam talks about his experiencewhen he was in Tel Aviv. He was reading the newspapers there. On the previous day there wereattacks and bombardments by Hamas. Many people died. If it were in India, the newspaperswould carry pictures of dead people, burning places and other destructions with gory reportsabout them. But the front page of the newspaper had the picture of a Jewish gentleman who infive years had transformed his desert land into an orchard and a granary. It was this inspiring

picture that everyone woke up to. The death and destructions were buried among other news.2. DR A PJ ABDUL KALAMS THREE VISIONS

Dr Kalam has three visions for India. The first vision is that of freedom. In the past peoplefrom all over the world have come and invaded our country. They took over what was ours. Yetwe have not done this to any other nation. We respect the freedom of others. India got its firstvision of freedom in 1857. We must protect and nurture our freedom. If we are not free no onewill respect us.

His next vision for India is development. For the last fifty years we have been a developingnation. We are one among the top five nations in terms of GDP. We have ten percent growth ratein most areas. Our poverty levels are falling. Our achievements are globally recognized today.

Yet we lack the self confidence to see ourselves as a developed nation.India must stand up to the world. This is Kalams third vision. It means we should be

strong not only as a military power but also as an economic power. We are the first in milkproduction. We are number one in remote sensing satellites. We are the second largest producerof wheat. We are the second largest producer of rice.3. My dreams of a developed India. (Speech)Dear Friends

I want to share with you my dreams about of a developed India. I have great dreamsabout the future of our country. India of my dreams is absolutely independent, perfectly peacefuland highly developed. In many fields she is at the top. We are one among the top five nations interms of GDP. We have ten percent growth rate in most areas. Our poverty levels are falling. Ourachievements are globally recognized today. We are the first in milk production. We are numberone in remote sensing satellites. We are the second largest producer of wheat. We are the

second largest producer of rice. We have made great progress in many areas but lot needs to bedone to make our country a better place to live.

I think we are responsible for this. We are not doing enough for our country. We alwaysblame the governments for inefficiency. The attitude of the media is also negative. The Indiannewspapers are full of stories of disasters, killings and destruction. They dont give importanceto the achievements and progress made in different fields.

My dream of a developed India has citizens who try to make the best of it. For this, wehave to respect the law and order of our country. Instead of running away to other countries andpraising their systems we must try to improve conditions in our own country. We must decide touse Indian goods instead of running after anything foreign.

Cleanliness is something, which is considered God. We, Indians do not worship this God.Our dirty cities, dirty rivers tell the reality. I dream of neat and clean India.

I dream of an India which is 100 percent literate, where everyone is employed and there isabsolutely no poverty. A girl child should be given an equal opportunity to prove herself. All thesocial evils like dowry, girl child and others will be banished from India of my dreams. Truth, non-violence, virtue, high moral values of life and above all the integrity of character will be thehallmarks of the Indian society.

The last and foremost dream I have for India is to see her as the most developed nation inthis world. I wish all the above dreams of mine come true in my life time itself.4. We should follow the west for development and need not think of our rich tradition.(Debate)

ForAs far as India is concerned development is important. We have still to develop in many

fields. Today strength respects strength. To compete with other countries, we should have asense of our achievements. We must stand up to the world. We should take a detached look atother countries. We have to accept what is good in others. We should do what is needed fordevelopment. If we stick to our traditions and remain lazy we cannot become a developednation.

India is a developing country. Once India was famous for many things and we have a richand glorious tradition. Our achievements are globally recognized today. We have ten percentgrowth rate in most areas. Our poverty levels are falling. We are the first in milk production. Weare number one in remote sensing satellites. We are the second largest producer of wheat. Weare the second largest producer of rice. But we refuse to acknowledge these achievements. Weshould always be positive and we should have self-respect and self assurance. We shouldrespect and obey the rules of our land and stop abusing each other. We have our own identityand we need not imitate anybody. We have to develop our technology. We have to worktogether for the development of our country and we should also safeguard our rich tradition.
