“for they shall be comforted.”
In the Gospel today, we hear the good news that when we keep our focus on God and serve one another, God exalts us!
As you place your gift in the Society of St. Vin-cent de Paul Poor Box, please say a special prayer for the poor who have no one to pray for them.
Veteran’s Exiting Homelessness Program We’ve all seen pictures of the homeless veterans struggling to regain their foot-ing when returning to civilian life. They risked their lives for us. We can now be “church” to them. The Veteran’s Administration (VA) has a wonderful rent subsidy program that moves the homeless veterans to apartments—with a suc-cess rate of 60%. But the apartment lacks basic household needs. We at St. Cecilia can make a difference! On the weekend of November 18/19 we will be collecting new household items at the Masses. Think (kitchen, bathroom essentials). A list will be in next week’s bulletin. Help turn an apartment into a home!

33 Days to Morning Glory
Our Parish Life and Faith Formation Commissions are pleased to offer 33 Days to Morning Glory, where author Fr. Michael Gaitley masterfully summarizes the teach-ings of four giants of Marian spirituality. Through this self-guided retreat (using the book 33 Days to Morning Glory and by attending a weekly meeting or viewing an online video), a person commits to spiritual reading and prayerful pondering with a Marian focus. We give our-selves to Mary to be formed into the image of her Son, Jesus. "Mary brings us most intimately into that en-counter with Jesus," says Fr. Gaitley. We will begin independent study on Sunday, No-vember 5. In order for you to begin, please purchase the book 33 Days to Morning Glory this month and have it ready to read on November 5. Sign up for the weekly meetings (held at St. Cecilia's) or let us know you will be watching the videos from home. Our 33 days together will end on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Details about our final day will be given to participants and published in the bulletin. Our first weekly meeting will be on Saturday, No-vember 11 at 9 a.m. in the Meeting House. Please contact Lisa Mersereau to sign up for the first weekly meeting or if you have questions. Lisa's e-mail is [email protected].
Further information about 33 Days to Morning Glory can be found at Amazon.com or at http://www.marian.org/news/A-New-Day-Dawns-for-Marian-Consecration-4742.

Anniversary Prayer Anniversary Prayer on the Occasion of 50 Yearson the Occasion of 50 Years
Blessed are you, Lord our God,
who built and has sustained
St. Cecilia parish for 50 years
We glorify your name!
Thank you for the many blessings you have
bestowed upon this community of faith.
Continue to bless us as we work in unity, in truth, and in love during this, our
50th Anniversary, and into the future.
Help us to be cherished disciples of our Savior, Jesus Christ, by loving and respecting one an-
other and all of Creation.
May we continue to grow in wisdom and grace, through Christ, from whom all good things
come. In union with St. Cecilia and the com-munion of saints, we ask all of this through
Christ our Lord, Amen.
Altar of Remembrance
During November we remember all our departed souls. We will again have the Altar of Remem-brance. You are invited to bring a picture of your deceased one to place in their memory. Participa-tion is not limited to those who have passed away this year, nor need they have been parishioners.
You will take your picture home again at the end of the month. Please attach your name on the back of the picture. The altar will be up all month, except for the November 4th weekend—when we will be celebrating our 50th Anniversary. The altar will once again resume it’s placement for the rest of the month.
Join us for the 2nd Annual
St. Cecilia Sing! All are invited to what promises to be a wonderful, music-
filled evening featuring music from across our faith. Under
the direction of Jennifer Kerr Budziak, we will sing the
night away as we celebrate the gift of music in our lives as
we near the feast day of our patron saint, St. Cecilia. Our
singing will be accompanied by the mighty, fully restored
Casavant Opus 1279 pipe organ.
