The meeting started at approximately 6:50PM. In attendance at tonight’s meeting were Lions Ron Niemaszyk, Colleen and Mike Kowalski, Bill Lussow, Dave Aldrich, Betty Stoehr, Mike Clements, Cathy Gilmore, and Kristen Bonham. Guests at tonight’s meeting were Zone Chair, Lion Kathleen Marusich. Lion Mike C. thanked Lions Mike and Colleen for hosting this year’s club picnic. Great Job! Lion Ron reported that our club hosted the Lions of IL Foundation hearing bus at the Senior Center on August 20, 2014. Planning for Candy Day is underway. Lion Ron also stated that the board voted to pay the bingo company the sum of $2500.00 to end the legal battle with them; discussion followed. This year’s recycle event will be Sat. Sept. 13, 2014; more information to follow. Lion Kathleen reported on the district’s activities as well as the Monster Mash Bash to be held Fri. Oct. 24, 2014. She asked for help with ideas to make the event a success; a number of them were proposed by Lions present. The first zone meeting will be held Sept. 18, 2014 at The Black Steer. Let Lion Greg know if you’ll be attending. On Sept. 21, 2014 the district’s 9-pin, no tip bowling event will be held. The Lions of IL Foundation’s Walk For Life event will be held Sun. Sept. 28, 2014. The MD-1 Forum will be in Bloomington on Sat. Nov. 8, 2014. Lion Kathleen is planning a zone service event some time in Jan. The event will be at Feed My Starving Children, which packages food for the needy. Lion Mike C reminded us of some important dates: the Christmas party will be Dec. 7, 2014 and the Chili Cook Off will be Feb. 22, 2015. Lion Greg mentioned that the Candy Day planning is under way. Lion Ron is ready to send out the underwriter letters. He also mentioned the

recycling event on Sat. Sept. 13, 2014. Lions Betty and Kristen reported that the club would take part in the Village’s Trunk or Treat event again this year on Fri. Oct. 24, 2014. MOTION that a tutu skirt be purchased for the Lion costume to be worn during the trunk or treat event PASSED.

Lion Betty, Tail Twister, informed us that the first meeting in Dec. will be this year’s ugly sweater contest; be as creative as you can! Jackpot was won by Lion Kathe Aldrich, who was not present. Lucky buck was won by Lion Mike C. The meeting ended at 7:50PM Submitted by Ron Niemaszyk
