§ Revenues up 22% at Rs 7236.23 crores as compared to Rs5915.91 crores in the previous year.

§ Profit After Tax (PAT) witnessed a growth of 6% at Rs. 922.20 crores as against Rs 869.90 crores for the previous year, highest so far.

§ Profit Before Tax (PBT) up 15% at Rs. 1116.68 crores as against Rs 970.12 crores for the previous year

§ Dividend rises to Rs. 11.50 per share as compared to Rs 10.50 per share

Tata Power ConsolidatedFinancial Highlights for year ended 31st March 2009

§ The Company s consolidated revenue rose by 61% at Rs. 17587.53 crores as compared to Rs. 10,890.86 crores in the previous year.

§ The Consolidated PAT for the year at Rs. 1218.74crs rose by 16% as against Rs. 1055.07 crs for the previous year.

§ The increase in the Operating revenue has been mainly on account of higher realization by coal companies.

Operational Highlights§ Annual Generation highest at 14807MUs (Previous high at

14717 MUs in FY08)

§ Jojobera thermal power station recorded a generation of 3,009 MUs during the year as compared to 2,862 MUs in the previous year, an increase of 5.12%. The power station achieved the highest ever generation, crossing the 3,000 MU mark for the first time while surpassing the previous record of 2,862 MUs in FY08.

§ The Belgaum Independent Power Plant (IPP) generated 447 MUs during the year as compared to 237 MUs in the previous year, an increase of 88.61% due to increased demand from Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (KPTCL).

§ Supreme Court by its Landmark Judgment approved the PPAs signed by the

Company and BEST for 800 MW and with TPC D for 447 MW

§ Supreme Court has also held that Section 23 of the Electricity Act does not give

jurisdiction to MERC to allocate any power to a non-contracting discom

§ Post Supreme Court judgment allowing Tata Power Distribution 2366

Customers were added taking Customer Base to 26005

§ Customer Care Center started at Borivali

§ Overall Customer Satisfaction Index has improved from 73.8 (FY08) to 81.3

Project StatusThe Company has completed all pre-disbursement conditions in the financing agreements and has been receiving loan disbursements from the lenders as per the funding plan from its lenders. The project is progressing as per schedule. The first unit is expected to be commissioned by September 2011,ahead of the original schedule of August 2012.

Trombay Unit 8

Project Capacity 250 MW Expansion Project at Trombay

Ownership Structure Tata Power Division

The 250 MW imported coal based plant at Trombay was commissioned during the year and started commercial operations from end March 2009.

The capacity of this unit is being sold to BEST, Tata Power Distribution in Mumbai Licence Area and Tata Power Trading Company Limited.

Project Status

During the year, the Company commissioned Units 1 and 2 of 45 MW each. The collective generation of these two units during the year was179 MUs of power. The 30 MW Unit 3 has is scheduled to be commissioned in Q1 of FY10, but can be utilised fully only by Q3 FY10 once adequate quantity of production gases is available.

North Delhi Power Limited (NDPL):§ Revenue of Rs. 2467.87 crores, a growth of 7.90% as compared to the previous year§ Net profit of Rs. 171.47 crores during the year as compared to Rs. 281.58 crores in

the previous year.

Powerlinks Transmission Limited (Powerlinks): § Powerlinks, the first public-private joint venture in power transmission in India has

earned revenues of Rs. 254.49 Crores as against Rs. 245.52 Crores in the previous year.

§ The Profit after Tax also increased to Rs.65.34 Crores from Rs. 58.41 Crores in the previous year.

Tata Power Trading Company Limited (TPTCL):§ Traded 2996 MUs during the year as compared to 1,711 MUs in the previous

year, § Revenues up by 146% to Rs. 2171.93 crores from Rs. 882.12 crores in the

previous year. § Profit after Tax also increased from Rs. 7.63 crores as against Rs. 4.3 crores in

the previous year.

Trombay Thermal Power Station awarded the Greentech Safety Award 2009 in Gold Category in Power Sector.

The Company won the civic award in the category social development instituted by Bombay Chambers for the Year 2007-08.

Jojobera division received first prize in ash management from Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board.

Ministry of Power & Central Electricity Authority have awarded Bhira and BhiraPump Storage Scheme (6X25 + 1 X 150 MW) as second best performing station (Silver Shield) in the country for the year 2007-08, in the category of Power Stations more than 100 MW. This is the second consecutive year Bhiradivision has won this award.

Awards and Recognitions:

4000 MW Ultra Mega Power Project at Mundra voted as Power deal of the year by PFI in their year book 2009.

4000 MW Mundra UMPP won the Award in the category Power Deal of the Year at the 2008 Infrastructure Journal Awards.

BNHS Green Governance Award for CSR activities, for the year 2007-08. Gold Shield for the Annual Report and Accounts of the organisation for the year ended March 31, 2008, have been adjudged as the best under the Category ’Infrastructure & Construction Sector’ (Category ’VI’) of the ’ICAI Awards for Excellence in Financial Reporting’

Four 5S Teams from Trombay participated in the 1st Western Region Quality convention held at Pune on 19th April 2008. 70 Teams from Aurangabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Vadodara Chapters participated. There were six Winners and six Runners up.
