CURRENT STATEWhere are we now?
Turned the Corner
We have weathered the recession and internal restructuring, and are proud that:
– We’re in a positive cash position– We’ve added 200 new members in past year– OD Education Association (ODEA) is established and
growing– We’ve developed and are implementing a new three-year
strategic plan– The strategic plan, and this conference, were based on
feedback and research from members and stakeholders
•
Laying Strong Governance Foundation
Capitalized on our new partnership with SmithBucklin to build a stronger infrastructure
•Refining roles and responsibilities to leverage both SmithBucklin and board talent
•Establishing policies and processes to ensure consistency and equity in decision-making from year-to-year; leveraging SB’s association best practices
•Creating succession planning in board service– Growing to a 12-member board
– Terms reduced to 3 years to support intense “working board” expectations
– Four (4) board members rotate off/on each year
– Evolving representation to include our various member segments
– Increasing emphasis on volunteer engagement on committees to support succession planning onto board
