Skins is a popular BAFTA-winning British teen drama that follows a

friendship group in Bristol in their last two pre-college years. There are a total

of 61 individual episodes over a number of series the most popular being

series 3&4 featuring the main characters: Effy, Freddie, Cook, JJ, Thomas,

Naomi, Emily, Katie & Pandora.

In my personal opinion I think that this TV show is aimed at teenagers all

over the UK going through college and people who can relate to the situations

that occur within the characters. Each character has their own stereotype so its

suitable for a wide range of people that can relate to different personalities.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Skins is a very emotional programme that all teenagers could relate to as

they’re growing up, it shows a range in personalities throughout the 61

episodes introducing 3 different groups of friends throughout 6 series. Some

of the troubles in which they have in the script are realistic to real life were as

some are over-exaggerated but what would be a televsion programme without

it being slightly dramatic? They go through different scenarios to do with:

lovers, friends, family and emotions which draws attention to the teen viewers

in relation to themselves and their own troubles in life.
