NSS ACTIVITIES 21st June 2016 - INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY Yoga Session was conducted in the College Audi foyer by PATANJALI YOGA TRAINING CENTRE. All the College staff and the NSS volunteers attended the session in which various Yoga Asana( Exercises) were conducted. 29th June 2016 - VRIKSHA DINDI RALLY & STREET PLAY A Rally was conducted by the Forest Department. The main motive of the rally was to aware people about Tree Plantation. The rally was started from LALA LAJPATRAI COLLEGE to MAHALAXMI STATION and also a Street Play was performed by the NSS Volunteers. REPORT OF STAFF ACADEMY 1) A Guest Lecture was organized on 22nd June, 2016 at 10.30 a.m. Mr. Ashok Kumar,

MD of Lotus Know Wealth Pvt. Ltd. was Guest Speaker. The topic of the lecture was – “Financial Planning & Management of Investments”.

2) A Guest Lecture and a ‘Drug free campus zone’ campaign was organized in

collaboration with Anti-Narcotics Cell, Mumbai. On this occasion Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Naiknavre delivered a talk ib “Avoiding effects of drugs” on ___________.

BMS : 1) Participation in Seminar on “Investment in Stock Market” 22nd June, 2016

Finance students of SYBMS attended the seminar and had an interactive session with guest lecturer Prof. Ashok Kumar in Room No. 408.

2) Participation in BOOT CAMP conducted by ISDI 24th June, 2016 23 students of BMS (Second & Third year) visited One India Bulls Centre, Tower 2A, for “Entrepreneurship & Finance Boot Camp” conducted by Star faculty from ISME at Indian School of Design & innovation Centre. They were enlightened by Speaker Prof. Amarpreet Ghura on “Entrepreneurship Essentials” and Prof. Utsav Shroff on “Financial Literacy”

3) Second Pre-Event of Tsunami – 2016 (Visit to JJ Memorial Old Age Home at Mumbai

Central) 26th June, 2016 Team Tsunami, as part of their fest, visited old age home and spent full day with them –A power packed day with a variety of activities ranging from singing, dancing, to movie screening with hearty Tsunami 2016 motive was to make them smile; they were laughing. Tsunami 2016 aim was to make them have fun; they had a blast.

BAF :

24th June 2016 The students of TY BAF went to Lower Parel for ISME Seminar on 24 June, 2016. All students received certificates. The topic of the seminar was marketing strategies.

29th June 2016 BAF department organized seminar on future studies in aboard. The speaker was Sweety burrows and allan from Chopras institute dated on 29th June, 2016 arranged in room no. 507.

30th June 2016 BAF department organized a workshop on resume building and soft skills for TY and SY BAF on 30 June 2016. Speaker for the workshop was Mrudaywag all SY and TY BAF students attended this workshop in large numbers

BMM :

Report of zee news coverage ZEE TV had invited BMM students to cheer for P.V. Sindhu in the finals in RIO Olympics’ 16. SYBMM students had prepared posters to support P.V. Sindhu. Many slogans were made into various languages such as Gujrati, Punjabi, Marathi, Hindi, English.

1st July 2016 - TREE PLANTATION ACTIVITY AT ADOPTED VILLAGE, COLLEGE PREMISES AND BMC GARDEN. Tree Plantation Activity was organized at Adopted Village, College Premises and BMC Garden. There were 16 volunteers who planted trees in the Adopted Village and we also celebrated in our college premises and BMC Garden. 19th July 2016 - GURU PURNIMA Celebration of Guru Purnima in College with Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff by offering them Flower Saplings and Sweets as a Token of Love and Respect. GYMKHANA REPORT : Lala Lajpatrai College organised Inter collegiate chess tournament on behalf of Mumbai university in college premises. The tournament was from 27th July, 2016 till 29th July, 2016. Around 190 students from 38 different colleges participated in the event. REPORT OF ATTENDANCE COMMITTEE : 1) Parents-teachers’ meeting for T.Y.B.Com. and S.Y.B.Com. was organised on

16/07/2016 to inform the parents about the attendance of their wards. Examination rules were also explained to them.

2) An orientation lecture was organized on 23/07/2016 for F.Y.B.Com. students and their

parents informing them about rules of attendance, examination and other activities like NSS, DLLE, Cultural and Students’ Council.

BMS : 1st July 2016 : The College organized “Tree Plantation Program”. It was attended by the professors and students of self-financed courses. 4th July 2016 : The BMS department organized a program in college auditorium to unveil Tsunami 2016 LOGO. The program was also graced by famous Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha. 8th July 2016 : An interactive session on “Strategy Development& Implementation” was organized by College. The session was conducted by Mr. Ankit Jamwal. Faculties and students of BMS Department attended the session. 11th July 2016 : TALENT NEXT an event organized and was attended by team TSUNAMI 2016 along with TYBMS students at Blue Frog. The students had an interaction with media and the panel of prominent personalities such as Karan Johar, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Prahald Kakkar, Sameer Nayar, Salim Merchant and Sameer Pittalwala. 15th July 2016 : Tsunami 2016 CL meet organized at hotel ITC Grand – Parel. Around 25 colleges participated in that event.

19th July 2016 : Department of commerce organized an EDP program on “Financial Education and Investor Analysis by Mr. Amanpal Singh Chawla”. It was attended by the Finance Elective students of SYBMS – III. 20th July 2016 : Around 20 students of TYBMS – V attended the session organized by DARASHAW. 2 students were selected from them for an internship with them in the field of finance. 27th July 2016 : BMS department organized “FUTURE PROSPECTS AND CHALLENGES” games for SYBMS (Marketing – Elective students) & Mock Stock for SYBMS (Finance Elective students. Marketing game was organized by Prof. Rahul Shah and Mock Stock was organized by Mr. Purv Shah. 25th July 2016 : An orientation program was organized by team Tsunami 2016 for the FYBMS – I students. 30th July 2016 : a MOCK STOCK program attended by TYBMS students along with TYBAF students. The program was conducted by Mr. Purv Shah.

BAF : 21st July 2016 – BAF & BBI department organized a seminar on future education from SIEC institute. 30th July 2016 – Workshop on mock –stock exchange was organized on 30th July by Mr. Purv Shah from BSE for SY and TY BAF students.

BMM : 21/7/2016 RJ MALISHKA is the very known radio jockey in India, she works for 93.5 red fm and is a very good inspiration to every radio jockey in India as well as upcoming radio jockey's. The students of Lala Lajpatrai College (B.M.M) got an opportunity to meet the eligent personality at Barking Deer, Lower Parel and she shared her life journey with all the people. Everyone enjoyed and also guided some student to pursue career as a radio jockey. 22/7/2016 The event was at Bombay canteen Lower Parel and the very own standup comedian Aditi Mittal had come for the interaction with the people, the student of Lala Lajpatrai College gained some knowledge from her. The interaction between the students of our college and Aditi Mittal was quite nice. 26/7/2016 to 30/7/2016

Mebido is a media drive wherein the BMM students of Lala Lajpatrai College bring the industry people to the students to enlighten them about the various career options they can choose and go for and also get knowledge from it. Mebido was a 5 day event took place in Lala Lajpatrai College in 507 from 26th July 2016 – 30th July 2016 As a part of PR activity, student uploaded 5 videos on YouTube and shared their link on the detour page. The videos were between 1 - 3 mins and on different social issues pertaining to society.

BBI : 15th July, 2016 Participation in guest lecture on ‘Detection of Deception’ organized by Commerce Department Guest Speakers for the session were Mr. Abdul Rehman and Mr. M.S. Khatri from IRIANS Research Institute Pvt. Ltd. 26th July, 2016 Participation in Interactive Web Session on ‘Becoming an Inspiring Leader’ by FYBBI students As a part of the Subject Principles of Management, FYBBI students attended an interactive web session conducted by Mahindra SSG. Collegiate Debate Competition organized by Sophia College on 26th August, 2016 and partnered by Federal Bank Hormis Memorial Foundation. Ms. Katha Mehta was selected to compete for the same at the Zonal Round / Level.

Ms. Vaishali Mathuria. EXAMINATION COMMITTEE : Internal tests for S.Y, T.Y.B.Com. (20 Marks) (03/08/2016 – 06/08/2016). MARATHI VANGMAY MANDAL : 1) Marathi Vangmay Mandal organized “Lokmanya Tilak Puyatithi” programme on

1st August, 2016. Many faculty members gave their speech on life and contribution of Lokmanya Tilak in freedom struggle. An essay writing competition was organized on this occasion.

2) Poster making competition was organized on 29th August, 2016. Many students participated in the event.

3) Modak making competition and poster making competition was organized on 30th August, 2016. Many students participated in the event.

DEPARTMENT OF LIFE LONG LEARNING & EXTENSION : 1) Orientation programme was organized on 10th August, 2016 in which the resource

person Ms. Hema Contractor, who is working for Dyslexic kids’. She addressed the students and explained in detail about different community level activities which could be under taken for under privileged sections of society.

2) On 15th August street play was performed on the theme “Women Rights and Education”.

3) On 17, 19 and 20th August DLLE students visited Municipal Schools of Ghatkopar and Dadar to help the children in preparing for the Skit for Teachers Day. They also held educative talk shows under Each One Teach One programme and distributed cards and chocolates.

4) On 23rd August, DLLE and NSS unit jointly organized a workshop on “How to register for Voting Card” to create general awareness about voting card registration among the students.

1) Department organized Elocution Competition on 12th August, 2016 in Room No. 408 at 10.30 a.m. Following topics were given. a) Internationalisation of higher education in India. b) Inclusive Growth Strategy : Key to economic development. c) Make in India Campaign : Success or Failure. d) Impact of Monetary policy in controlling inflation.

Following students were winners : Harjagjit Dhanjal (Ist) – T.Y.B.M.S. Shreema Bhattacharjee (IInd) – T.Y.B.Com. Omkar Chavan (IIIrd) – T.Y.B.Com.

2) Guidance Lecture was organized on 29th August, 2016 for T.Y.B.Com. students.

Resource Person was Dr. G. Rajalakshmi, Principal, Nirmala College of Commerce and former member of Board of Studies of Economics.

NSS ACTIVITIES : 13th August 2016 - TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITY Team Building Activity was conducted by Mr. Pranay Shinde Sir. The activity was conducted to bring all the volunteers close and become a team. 13th August 2016 - SWATCCH BHARAT RALLY A rally was organized from Our College to NSCI, Lotus. Volunteers holded Posters in their hands which had messages related to keeping the society clean. There were 45 volunteers attended the rally. 22nd August 2016 - ORIENTATION DAY Orientation Day was organized for the Volunteers to bring them about the Activities to be undertaken in the Academic year 2016-17, and also to make them aware of their responsibilities towards the Society. 29th August 2016 - BLOOD DONATION DRIVE RRC has organized Blood Donation Drive in the College. 57 units of Blood were collected. 30th, 31st & 1st August 2016 - ORGAN DONATION There was a rally conducted from AIR INDIA BUILDING to GYMKHANA (Charni Road), A seminar at KEM Hospital and at University (Fort) to create awareness about the Importance of Organ Donation among the volunteers. REPORT OF STAFF ACADEMY : Annabhau Sathe birth anniversary was celebrated on 1st August, 2016 by reading out the contribution’s of Annabhau Sathe to Maharashtra’s progress. Students also offered their tribute by singing powadas and songs. GYMKHANA REPORT :

Our F.Y.B.Com. [Accounting and Finance] student PRANAV PRAVIN SOLANKI secured 4th place in inter-collegiate SWIMMING competition held at Hindu Swimming Pool, Charni Road on dated 19th & 20th Aug, 2016. He has qualified for zonal round secured 2nd Position in 100 meter free style rally & 3rd position in 200 meter free style SWIMMING Competition. Swimming : (Boys)(Certificate) Pranav Solanki Inter college tournaments organized by Mumbai University. Our Senior college team showed very good performance in inter college Swimming tournaments on 19th & 20th Aug., 2016. DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS : Department of Mathematics & Statistics organized a debate competition on 30th August, 2016 on the topic “Should Mathematics & Statistics be made compulsory in Higher Education”.

BMS : 4th August 2016 : A program on GRE awareness program was organized by MAGNUS EVENTS for FY, SY & TYBMS students. BAF : INTER-COLLEGE FESTIVAL PARTICIPATION The students participated Inter college Dance events and stood 1st in Ruia College, 2nd in Vidyalankar college and Hinduja college, 3rd in NM college fest Umang on 19th August they also got a coverage in the newspaper. They got featured in Maharashtra times newspaper. WILSON COLLEGE BAF Department of Lala Lajpatrai College was invited to participate in "ADORE" -- a fest of Wilson College, Chowpatty. Students from our department participated in Street dance which was held on 28th August, 2016 and the students won many applauds from the people gathered around to watch the street dance. Prodigy – An academic Fest - 11th and 12th August, 2016 Prodigy is an intra-collegiate academic fest hosted for 2 days this year. It was organized by the BAF and BBI students and was scheduled on 11th and 12th of August. They gave their best efforts to make sure the event was a success. Prodigy comprised of many events namely 1) Suprise Event 2) Financial path 4) Find the way 5) Dare quiz 6) Debate. 3 events were planned on the first day and 3 on the next. Second day seminar on Financial Planning and motivation through game exercise was organized. Dr. Ashok Singh was speaker. We had renowned celebrities from B town to increase the X factor of the festival. On the first day we had Madhushree Bhandarker maam who is one of the most melodious voices in the bollywood for the pre events and on the second day and main day we had Taher Shabbir to accompany us with all his charm and witty comebacks. Overall all the events were a total blockbuster and students enjoyed a lot. 6/8/2016 More to Give, an NDTV and Fortis initiative to promote and raise awareness about organ donation, was launched with a discussion on the cause. They talked about how thousands of organs are donated in our country every year, yet we fall short of lakhs. NSS unit of our college organized a poster making competition on the theme of road safety. A rally on Road Safety from the college to Hajiali with the help of Mumbai traffic police was conducted and a human chain was made at Worli, Lotus. DIGITAL INDIA AWARENESS ACTIVITIES Students conducted a workshop and quiz and poster making competition in college. Also they made people of Adopted Area aware about these efforts and created awareness about cashless transactions by video screening for the residents and explaining how to use Paytm App on 22nd December, 2016.Seminar on cashless India for NSS volunteers were conducted on 23rd December, 2016. Also, students prepared pamphlets for the same and distributed them in the area and to local vendors near Mahalaxmi Station on 26th December, 2016.

BMM : ONE DAY IV Date : 06/12/2016 One day industrial visit of BMM department was organized to Flames University, Pune. One of the professor of Flames University explained a whole lot about the University and various programme held in their university. Students enjoyed exploring the campus area and a whole different culture of hostel life all together. BAF : 19 December 2016 Students of BAF department organized a CL meet of MOOD FESTA' 2K17 on 19 December, 2016 at White Room in Andheri (West) wherein it was an open invitation to all colleges. BROUHAHA DATES - 9th, 10th, 14th, 15th, 16th December, 2016. The students of BAF and BBI participated in BROUHAHA, 2016 a Sydenham college fest. Students participated in the various events. VOTERS APPEAL DRIVE (17th-22nd February, 2017): On 17th February, 2017 the volunteers conducted awareness drive for upcoming elections in college and Tulsiwadi. Posters were put up in college for taking Voters' pledge and casting their vote.

Also they visited residents in vicinity of their residence and appealed them to cast their votes.

A survey to find out voters’ turnover was conducted to find out how many from these families were eligible for voting and how many of them actually voted.

A total of 248 families were visited by the volunteers. Department Of Mathematics and Statistics :

4th February 2017 : 2 students from TYBMS (Ms. Katha Mehta & Mr. Sagar Chaudhari participated in entrepreneurship cell initiated program – Inventure – 2017.

15th & 16th February 2017 : BMS students contributed for the program Sankalp organized by NSS. Contribution came in various forms such as snacks for the participants, refreshments for volunteers, t-shirts for painting competition and trophys and certificates. BMS students also participated in the same program in following various activities: o Mr. Darshil Shah : Short film making o Mr. ZuzerHaidri : Singing o Ms. Ayushi Shah & Dhwani Kothari : Poster making competition.

18th February 2017 : College organized international conference on “DeMonetization – is it an end or a new beginning.” o Dr. Arun Poojari was appointed as a secretary of the conference. o Dr. Rajesh Mankani was the convener of the conference. o Prof. Mona Thakkar-Pandya & Prof. Priti Parikh were the members of the report

writing committee. o Ms. Aashka Mehta & Mr. Harjagjeet Singh Dhanjal (TYBMS students) presented

the papers. o Ms. Aashka Mehta won the award in student’s category for the best paper.

18th February 2017 : a seminar for BMS students was held for informing them about value added courses to students in niche technologies required by the industries on “Cyber security & MS. Excel. It was organized by EBTS organization.

19th February 2017 : RUSA University of Mumbai in collaboration with IMS offered 100% scholarship for CAT course worth Rs. 40000. Following students: o Tanya Porbandarwala o Rahul Chalwadi o Keyur Perla

25th & 27th February 2017 : Marathi Vangmay Mandal celebrated Marathi Bhasha Diwas. BMS students Mr. Ramesh Parihar & Mr. Siddhesh Shetye, Ms. Vahishta Anklesaria & Mr. Harjagjeet Singh Dhanjal participated in quiz competition & poetry recitation.

28th February 2017 : College celebrated convocation day. TYBMS (a.y. 2015-2016) students graduates were conferred with the graduation degree.

28th February 2017 to 4th March 2017 : A workshop on digital marketing program was conducted in collaboration with ATS Techno Company. 40 students from BMS participated.

BSc IT : 28th Feb - 6th March 2017 : 24 hour workshop organised in 5th floor Computer Lab on ASP.net with C# organized in collaboration with ATS learning Solutions and Microsoft. The training was fully Practical oriented.

International Women’s Day was celebrated on 8th March, 2017. Ms. Charmagne Kinger, Counselor and Ms. Ameeta Bhatia, social worker were invited as chief guests on the occasion and were felicitated by our college. A one day National Workshop on Research Design & Data Analysis on 29th April, 2017. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE : Remedial Lectures were organized for students in the subject of COMMERCE : VI (HRM) on April 08, 2017. 3) One Day Inter Collegiate Academic Event INVENTURE 2017 was organized on 4th

ZEST FEST Date : 8/3/2017 Zest fest was a special fitness event through which Women's Day was celebrated, All aspects in a woman’s life were covered through their workshop right from om chanting and yoga to zumba to self-defense ending with the most important part of a woman’s life "Healthy cooking". It was a learning experience for BMM students.
