    On Saturday, August 24, 2019, 38 Midshipmen participated in volunteering to set up the 44th

    annual Annapolis 10 Miler race expo and finish line. The Annapolis 10 Miler is the first in a

    series of races that will prepare the marathon team for the Chicago Marathon on Sunday,

    October 13, 2019. The Midshipmen helped unload trucks and organize equipment in

    preparation for Sunday’s race day.

  • Race Info:

    On Sunday, 25 August 2019, 38 Midshipmen participated in volunteering and running the

    Annapolis 10 Miler. There were over 3500 registered for the race, and 2691 finishers. The

    day before, the team could be seen setting up the race start and finish area. It was a beautiful

    morning and the Midshipmen were excited to run through Annapolis. After running ten

    miles, the team helped break down and return all of the equipment to the race. The team was

    able to work together quickly and efficiently to load and unload all of the equipment, arriving

    back at Bancroft well before originally expected. Some notable USNA graduates who ran this

    race include: Mr. Tim O’Connor, 2007, Rhonit Sharma, 2013, and Gabriel Larrios and

    Kaitlyn Monahan, 2017.

    Conclusion: In total, the Navy Marathon Team had 7 Midshipmen who placed in the top 100

    and top percentile of their respective age group. It was a beautiful day for this race and it was

    amazing to see the running community of Annapolis run together and support each other.

    The team was also joined by two recent grades, Gabriel Larrios and Kaitlyn Monahan of the Class of 2017, and
