Transcript of Animal Cell Analogy
•In the cytoplasm the organelles can move inside a cell freely like the motherboard in a computer lets certain parts move around
The cytoplasm in a cell is like the motherboard in a computer
•Ribosomes Reads RNA to make proteins like Pixels read where they will be placed to make the visual.
Ribosomes are like the pixels on a computer screen
•The firewall on the computer works as a level of protection that keeps unwanted things out, and lets certain things in as well like the cell membrane
The firewall on a computer resembles a cell membrane
•The rubber casing on the wires hold together the copper in the wires like the cytoskeleton holding together a cell
The rubber casing on wires resembles the cytoskeleton
•Both DNA and codes in a computer are both different kinds of codes. The DNA and the codes tell the computer or cell what to do. DNA is needed for a cell to function, and Coding is needed for a computer to work.
DNA is like the coding in a computer.
•The RAM on a computer is similar to a cell vacuole because the RAM in the computer temporarily stores information. Like the vacuole which stores water and water for a temporary time.
A cell vacuole is like the RAM on a computer
•Wires in a computer are like vesicles in a cell. Wires in a computer transport information to different parts of the computer. Vesicles transport things to different parts of the cell.
Vesicles are just like the wires in the computer
•The CPU of a computer carries out the instructions of a computer program. The nucleus carries out the instructions of the DNA.
The Nucleus and CPU ( Central Processing Unit) are alike
•The cache helps put together data with the help of the CPU and transistors like the nucleolus puts together and transcribes rRNA ( Ribosomal RNA)
The CPU Cache is like the nucleolus
•The mitochondria powers the cell like the PSU powers the computer.
The mitochondria are like the PSU ( Power Supply Unit) in computers
•The ER synthesizes ribosomes and lipids. The front-side bus connects the transistors in a computer to the CPU and RAM controller hub. Both help with process “connection” like connecting the process of protein synthesis in a cell the ER “connects with the Golgi Body.
The ER (Endoplasmic Reticulum) is like the Front-side bus on a computer
•The Golgi Apparatus packages and distributes proteins and lipids made In the ER. The computer router packages and distributes packages of information to the computer or out to a server.
The computer router is like the Golgi Apparatus
•The lysosome gets rid of unwanted or useless organelles, and other things as well like the recycle bin gets rid of useless or unwanted files.
The lysosome is like the recycle-bin on a computer
