“Colombia is a phenomenal opportunity [for renewable energy development] and will get to the same level as Chile and Mexico very soon… in the next decade or so. Colombia will become the next country [for the development of wind and solar projects]
given its size, the amount of energy needs and the amount of growth, which is second to none, in the region.”Pablo Otin, VP – Emerging Markets, 8minutenergy
WWW.ANDRECWEEK.COM
Determine Colombia’s renewable energy opportunityI am excited to introduce you to our latest event, ANDREC WEEK, where we will be exploring the market opportunities in Latin America’s sleeping giant of renewable energy, Colombia, as well as other exciting markets in Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia.
Colombia has a strong need to diversify its energy mix away from hydroelectricity and is beginning to focus on wind and solar as important supporting energy sources. We aim to paint you a picture of renewable energy in Colombia by covering key areas of importance, including government regulation, transmission, finance, investment and ‘on the ground’ development.
During ANDREC WEEK, we will provide you with one to one networking opportunities to meet with key local stakeholders, provide you with regional experts to give you direct insights into market entry strategies, and provide access to local partners to establish your network and business strategy.
Make sure you join us for 3 days of focused content, structured networking and VIP dinners with over 150 stakeholders and 30 expert speakers.
Please get in touch with us if you have any questions. I look forward to joining you in Colombia this November.
WELCOME TO ANDREC

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
COLOMBIAColombia is targeting 10% of the country’s
total installed capacity by 2028 from NCRE
Peru’s renewable energy policy incentives include priority dispatch for renewable
electricity, accelerated depreciation and technology-specific auctions
Bolivia has a goal of 549 MW of NCRE from solar, wind, geothermal and biomass
by 2020
Ecuador has year round solar irradiation and around 500MW of wind potential
Colombia’s 2014 Energy Law includes a series of incentives to promote NCRE
development
Peru has an estimated wind potential of 22GW and excellent resources for solar
development
The government will guarantee up to 90% of investments made in Bolivia in
renewable energy projects
Ecuador has a 5.4GW grid with the system already unbundled
Projects under 20MW have priority to gain grid access and the average spot price is
US$100/ MWh
Peru’s latest energy auctions saw 185MW PV and 162MW wind projects tendered
w/ 20 year PPAs, attracting over $1 billion investment
Bolivia already has over 100 MW of solar PV and 120 MW wind tendered or under
development
There are no barriers to private sector participation and a functioning competitive wholesale energy market
